It isn't something I am really likely to do, so not a big deal for me. When I was in the Sprint store, the rep said that it can do it with wifi (of course, only if the viewing device has wifi also). I needed the keyboard, so the Epic was for me.

Re: [Bounty] For Epic 3.5 mm TV-Out fix

Was this post de-credited or something?? The post below says it a hardware limitation and not software.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/sprint-epi...ml#post1932751

"Hi, I'm a Sprint employee and Epic owner. Having worked with the Samsung developers a little I can tell you with assurance that the TV Out option was not "disabled" by Sprint's choice. It's a h/w limitation. When you first boot the phone you get an auto update which appears to disable the TV Out option, but I think that's a mandatory because the shipping ROM is universal to domestic carriers from Samsung. The TV Out limitation is due to the CDMA SOC (system on chip), which will be true for the Verizon model coming soon. The Galaxy S devices based on the GSM SOC do have the TV Out option.

DLNA is the only option for displaying multimedia on a remote display, but keep in mind you are limited to self-created content. You can't broadcast YouTube or SprintTV across DLNA as the DRM encryption is not supported on either the Epic or any remote device.

We're glad you're a Sprint customer and hope you remain happy with your Epic!"

While we have a CDMA chipset and not the same one as GSM one, its not a hardware limitation..

look:

[DEV/MOD] Epi-Nex ROM | USB Audio & TV-out | USB OTG | Bricked Epic Recovery (1-4-11) - xda-developers

Ty Gten,
I am tired of people quoting that same quote from a so called Sprint Employee. I have been following that Xda thread also and am hoping that the froyo source code will get this moving soon.

The quote
"because the shipping ROM is universal to domestic carriers from Samsung."
should be a giveaway..lol.
