Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*

Just flashed 1.7. Nice and smooth as usual.

One thing though - the stock messaging app still doesn't have all the same features and settings as it did in 1.5, such as a saved messages cap. I don't know why they are different but I liked whatever was in 1.5 better. I tried backing up and restoring via Titanium with no luck. Any way to restore that version of Messaging to use with this rom?

Try wiping sd ext also.

(I actually wipe everything except sdcard, battery stats and rotation. )

Are these latest ROMs built off of an official sprint release or are they still using ported roms?
Anybody?

I found a little glitch, After flashing the brightness went to max, but I can easily change it to Automatic. It works ok, BUT if I reboot the phone, it goes back to max..... so it is not saving the setting.....

So far the only problem I have is while using the HTC mail app (gmail app is push and uses more battery if you put it on a home page)is trying to compose an email while holding your phone landscape. You cant see what your typing. Anyone have a fix?

still based on the ported EVO SHIFT, the official sprint release had an older version of sense

Well actually the kernel is from the official release...the official release came w/ updated drivers for wimax & wifi, amikam just bundled the libs w/ the kernel so they'd work

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*

I too had that brightness bug once. Ten minutes later it was followed by a nasty issue i've now had happen twice. On reboot of the phone, I got stuck in a rapid bootloop with a small sprint logo. The only fix was to reflash the rom. Happened out of the blue both times. The old tricks (wiping cache/dalvik)(reflashing kernel)... none of them worked.

I have noticed issues restoring apps + data using my backup root so I tried something different on this recent flash. I restored the apps but not the data. I then rebooted into recovery and did the fix apk mismatch bit and booted. At that point I restored data on the ones i needed it back on and had no issues with them.

I can't pinpoint the brightness bug but when it happend I was in a dark car and took a call and noticed the screen at full brightness. As soon as i got off the call i checked brightness settings and auto was unchecked and at max.

One other quick question.. how easy is it to customize that IME keyboard?
