no kidding. got it up and running at home, on gingerbread now. wifi is a little erratic, but other than that, all good. sort of an off topic question, but does anyone know how to add custom cities to the weather database? i tried the following guide, but after clearing the weather provider data (final step), all cities disappear.

Also, is the hotspot feature not hacked for this rom? Wireless tether works though.

Must be new to GB. Does it open the Map app and lookup the address? Give directions? put your address in there and click it and see what it does.

I don't think they put any "hacked" (read warez'd) apps into their ROM. I always remove the Sprint Hotspot from using ROM Manager (wifirouter.apk)

So no one else is having an issue with Firefox and/or Nitrodesk Touchdown on this new ROM?

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROM v5.0 | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 4/15/11*

My 2 cents on OMJ's 5.0

Now, let me start out by saying I understand this is a leak of a work in progress. Please don't think I have unreal expectations.

Also, thank you much to OMJ for doing the work that so many of us can not. I have been running OMJ's ROM's since I rooted, and will run nothing else.

Things I Liked
  • Seemed faster
  • I think I got better battery life
  • Look and feel
  • New options GB brings
  • Text selection
Things I Disliked (which are probably just bugs that are being worked out)
  • I had missing widgets (clock, calculator, GPS control, etc)
  • GPS seemed to turn itself off
  • Titanium did not restore my sense settings (a small thing)
  • I had to relearn how to correct words in swype (double tap didn't work anymore)
It was fun to mess with, but I'll keep 4.6 until OMJ can fix the official release.

This is a bug from the leaked ROM. This has to do with the type of screen. You can fix the brightness issue by using a different kernel but that causes camera issues.
