Have you figured out any resolve?

I still have the garbage collector freaking out on me on pre5. Anyone else using a2sd from dark tremor? Does it have something to do with that or is everyone using that with no problems? I hhave a very fast class 10 and I move the dalvik cache to SD as well. Imma try it without a2sd and see if that's the problem. Ill report back. It does it without any apps installed... in case anyone is having the same problem or following me.

Low quads w/ Tiamat:
If your phone is performing nicely (as you perceive it) I wouldn't worry about the number too much. Sometimes Tiamat gives me 800s, sometimes it gives 1300s. It always gets battery than SZ and I can never actually tell a diff in performance.

Hang on boot w/ Tiamat:
What is everyone doing when this happens? I haven't had that happen with this particular kernel, but when it does happen, 9x out of 10 it gets fixed by pulling the battery, holding the power down for a few secs, putting it back and rebooting.

A2SD:
If that turns out to be the culprit, maybe try this -
[ MOD ] Custom MTD Partitions by Firerat (resize Cache, Data & System) - xda-developers

Wifi:
Broke here too

Deck,
Totally digging this ROM but after pre 2 I kept getting CPU times of 95-100% on 2-5. Tried different kernals and formatting SD card. After digging through some stuff spare parts was consistently showing media are reboot and clean installs so i removed the gallery.apk after backing it up and the cputimes have dropped to 4-30% and spare parts doesn't show media at 100% up time. Keep up the awesomeness.

Having the same problem. Where did you find gallery.apk to remove it from?

I ran Tiamat and Savaged Zen...each time I flash it boots up fine...

If i reboot after I already flashed it and it's been up and running, it hangs up on the white screen on the evo...

I just re-flashed the kernel (after clearing cache and dalvik) and it's booting up fine
So either never reboot after flashing or just use the stock kernel

EDIT: I just re-flashed the kernel (didn't wipe data so everything stayed the same), I rebooted after re-flashing and it loaded up fine...hmm, so maybe after a re-flash it stabilizes? Who knows...just happy I don't have to be afraid to reboot

Gallery should be in system/app

Deck, is there a way, like with apk tools or something, for me to remap launcher2 so the phone icon launches go dialer?

Thanks

Re: [4-18-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre5][1.0]

well it wasn't an a2sd problem. It isn't a google apps problem, because using the TOP command i found the system/bin/mediaserver running all the time at 97%cpu with just the rom installed, regardless of kernel or weather or not I install gapps. I really am getting discouraged at this point. I was hoping it was something I was doing wrong LOL.

Pre 4 and 5 both do this. Since my battery has been attrocious here lately I assume it has been happening since about rc10. RC9 is my golden child. haha

Use Root Explorer and go to system-apps-gallery.apk...I believe it says coolaris or something. Make sure you change the Read/write thing in the corner of root explore then copy the gallry.apk to your sd card or comp before you delete it. Mine has been SUPER mellow since removing it....Id say download system panel to so you can monitor everything

@ Skydeaner: Not sure what that does, but would deleting gallery help you too?

I had the same issue....it was media runnnig 100% and keeping cpu 97-100%....I backed up the gallery apk and deleted it from system/apps then I installed QuickPic. Everything is lovely now
