Re: [4-22-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre7][1.0]

My pre5 was running fine on Tiamat 3.3.7 non SBC until today. This morning, my alarm was giving me reboots (made snooze SUCK b/c I had to wait for the phone to reboot to go back to sleep), then GPS, market, multi-mount SD, phone or trying to do anything too quickly caused a reboot.

Right now I'm on VaelPak, just to hold me over, figured there was no sense in flashing an old version hours away from the final. Anyway, anxiously awaiting this release. Need my Gingerbread back.

Deck - Thanks for all the hard work!

Everybody has got that itch, lol
Just waiting to dl and flash. The toughest decision now is whether I keep the stock kernel or get backo on Tiamat, which I'm sure I will eventuly do.

Hello! I'm a longtime XDA user ... new to PPCGeeks ...

Can someone with experience on both tell me how this ROM compares to CM7?
Considering switching for better battery life ...

Does this support 720p video recording? 8MP stills? Frontside camera?
GPS issues?

Thanks!

Frontside camera works fine, GPS works fine (might need to do the GPS fix trick once, but if you've done it before you're good). 720 recording is a no-go and idk about 8 MP stills, but the stills mine takes are pretty good.

I am a long time XDA'r as well, been running CM since my HeroC. I find this rom to be more stable than CM, RC4 was the last time CM7 ran stable on my phone. I have been flashing back and forth between deck and CM, only because I feel loyal to CM. I have to give them a chance when a new release drops, not nightlies though. I have ran both Zen and Tiamat Kernels, Tiamat seems to run the best on CFS SBC. Battery is mainly on usage, display brightness, signal & coverage, games, there are many variables. I do find better battery with Deck rom, as I dont reboot as many times, LOL.
