Newb question - If i flash one rom then want to install another one, should I somehow uninstall the first custom ROM and return to stock before installing the new custom ROM?

If so how do I do this? If not then it's safe to just simply install a new ROM right over the older one?

Usually whatever ROM you are looking to install will have some sort of directions as to the best way to do it. I don't really know of any requiring a flash to something stock(rooted) but you never know. Most just require a Wipe of everything before you flash (I usually perform this twice for everything). The options to Wipe will be in recovery.

As Carla said wipe everything twice. To my knowledge, there is no way to uninstall the os. The new ROM simply write over there other data. The reason why you have to wipe everything because all of the user data needs to be deleted. If you dont wipe, one of 2 things will happen:
1. **best scenario** The new rom boots up with all of the apks from the other rom and all of your installed apps. Contacts and txts remain. I think you may run into issues in the long run though

2. Continuous bootloop (take out the battery, go to recovery then nandroid restore, the back into recovery,WIPE everything then flash new rom)

There is no such thing as a bad ROM (at least on this list). I encourage you all to try them all!! That is the only way to see which works. I personally went through most of the list to find the one that suited me. I would do a poll but that would only state the on you ended up with. What if you like 2 or 3 of the ROMS?

hey,, i am wondering if this list of roms is the latest update? i am trying out a bunch of stuff(they call me mega flash) i was on cm-b2 liked it yet wanted to try something different,, so i flashed the MIUI V1.08( magnus's myuidecepticon). like it! it looks like the iphone and is very smooth and fast,, yet i am missing the cm goodness. is there an update for the v1.08??

I can't imagine any reason for anyone using an EVO to want a ROM based on 2.1.
