I'm pleased to have found this forum and look forward to trying your ROM, Rick!

I have a noobie question about installing this ROM that I didn't see covered in this thread: In order to install it, will I need to first root my phone in any way? Or does the install procedure in post #2 cover the entire process?

Thanks in advance!

Vlad

yes you need your phone to be rooted. You cant get your phone into recovery mode unless it is rooted.

To flash any custom rom or kernel, theme you must be rooted first

Long as the theme is built for 3.70, your fine flash away.. just backup first so if you don't like the theme or get in a boot loop you can revert back

rom manager will not work for that
use ra recovery to partition
after you partition app2sd will kick in on its own
but i dont think the version of app2sd is the script version i think its the app version

I just flashed your current rom and now my wireless tether isn't working. Its giving me a limited/no connectivity. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling. sprint hot spot isn't working neither. now usb tethering does so idk what else to do. any help will be appreciated.

Try rebooting then disabling wireless tether security. When you activate wireless tether make sure 4G is off and just let of sit thee for a couple of minutes and let the establish. Sometimes it takes a minute for the connection to establish and for the little yellow icon to disappear from the taskbar internet connection icon. Just let it sit there and wait. If it doesn't establish a full connection after like 3 minutes then there is definitely a problem. In that case I'm sad to say you probably should flash a different version of this ROM or an entirely different Rom if Android wi-fi tether is a prioroty for you.

I'm sure Rick is getting this worked out. I don't see him taking an extended vacation or retiring from Rom cooking altogether without stabilizing Android tether in his latest ROM. That's just my guess.

Re: [ROM] Azrael X v3.1 01/05/2011 (3.70.651.1 OTA/HTC #15 kernel)

ok that didn't. ill explain more too. 1st i was using clockwork recovery from when i rooted. i 1st flashed the RA 2.2 recovery and i wiped all data several times. I then installed azrael v3.1. everything else is great. i love the rom but either wifi tethering is working, sprint hot spot or wireless tether. wireless tether worked great when i was using fresh 3.3 ROM. I do need it as i tether my x-box sometimes and thats the only way it works. ugh anything else before i re-flash. i like the speed of the rom but need wireless tether. Also the usb tethering does work but sometimes it doesn't and iv i unplug and wait a few minutes it works sometimes it even take a few trys and it takes 2 or 3 minutes to fully connect. but wifi tethering immediately says limited connectivity on my pc as soon as i connect
