What am I doing wrong????

you might need to check if your are fully rooted. In Bootloader, does your hboot say 0.76.2000? if not and it says .79.xxxx then you are not fully rooted and will need to do so to flash this.

Well that is odd, my bootloader screen does say HBOOT-0.79.0000 but I followed the instructions for using the PC36IMG.zip to aquire root and it worked just as the tutorial said. And I can get into the recovery image and have successfully installed the previous (7-12-10) version of the Sprint Lovers ROM from there. Do I need to start over from the very beginning again or can I get a 2.2 version of the ROM packaged up in a zip folder in the format that the 7.12.10 version is?

I believe you can flash as before but would need to flash the updated radio and wimax seperately. Netarchy has a shipped rom out that has this setup I believe on xda. I'm sure Chris will have another solution as well. I was able to flash this file from bootloader and setting up as we speak. I like this setup since it updates all 3 for you in one shot. You may want to consider completing step 2 of the rooting process to unlock your nand. many of the roms now require this. Good luck.

Oh, so you are saying the reason why I can't flash this ROM from the SDCard is because I haven't completed the process of unlocking the nand. That helps because I wan't aware that was my problem. Can I do the rest of the root, using the tutorial from toast, staring from the 7.12.10 Sprint Lover's ROM, or do I have to use the Supersonic rooted ROM? I am really new at this, sorry.

In my first attempt I was able to flash the ROM with no errors. I did the whole 2xWipe/Cache; however I wasn't able to Wipe Davlic. (Using the latest Clockworkmod) It wasn't doing anything. Once I got to the main screen (where you have to slide down to unlock); The screen was unresponsive. I had to restore to an earlier backup.

So what I did was switch to the RA mon recovery. Followed instructions here. http://tiny.cc/88naj

I was able to 2x wipe/factory/cache/dalvik-cache. I then reloaded the ROM using the instructions on the first post. once I get to the main lock screen, I get the same results as before. (unable to unlock screen, "no service")

After getting to the step where I got stuck, i pulled out the battery, booted into the recovery, and redid the 2x Wipe/factory/cache/dalvik-cache. Same result as above.

I'm fully rooted as far as I know, I checked by using the su command in ADB. Also my HBOOT shows 0.76.2000. Before flashing this, I'm coming from an earlier version of SPRINT LOVERS ROM 7/12/10.

Any ideas on what I could possibly be missing or doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I recommend following the tutorial in Post #2 and re-rooting from stock and then installing the update.

Heres a strange one Chris. I flashed your rom tonight. Before doing so I completely wiped from omj deoxed with netarchy latest kernel (3.7.8b), then loaded up your rom and flashed from bootloader, after setting up your rom I noticed my kernel was netarchy, not stock?? I assume its a fluke unless your rom does have netarchy kernel included. lol.

I just finished starting from stock and loading your latest rom. However, I am still getting no service but am now able to atleast move around. The phone keeps restarting on its own after a min or 2. Please advise!!!!

I believe he did use the netarchy kernel because I am able to overclock with setcpu!!! We're not able to overclock with the stock kernel. Very snappy rom with all the Sprint stuff still intact and working; What more could we ask for?=D>

The kernel should be stock. Mine shows 2.6.32-15-g746f4f0, htc-kernel@and18-2 #58

I am recooking the rom now into zip format with uninstallable apps.
