I believe you are right. If I remember correctly there was an update that enabled wireless-N not long after the EVO launched. Without searching I feel pretty confident this is true.

The update just installs the changes without having to reinstall the whole ROM...correct?

Chris i installed the new allinone and everything works great except wifi hotspot when i turn it on i keep getting a message saying that its been turned on but with errors and to check log for more info. Is anyone else having this problem? Or can it be a bad flash of my part?

Could be..Mine starts up fine and I do not get any errors.

i think i figured what caused the error, for some reason i tried to enable wifi encryption and then i changed the passphrase to my own personal one, and i guess that is whats causing problem. thanks for the quick reply though

Just make sure not to leave any spaces. Example: "SprintHotspot" not "Sprint Hotspot"
