Or can i do titanium backup or something like that and backup, then upgrade rom, then restore and have my phone setup the way it is now only with the new rom version. Please help, i dont want to start over from scratch if i can avoid doing so...thanks
i just did the same thing and i did the titanium backup and then once i opened the market for the first time all my apps were still in the download section so i just redownloaded and then went into titanium and just restored the data to each one and everything was fine

well i flashed the rom just fine, but when i went into fresh updater and tried to get the vanilla lock with vanilla clock, it downloaded fine, i hit apply now and now its stuck in recovery on "formatting cache"...its been stuck on this for about 20 mins now, i'm hesitant to hit reboot during this

****update***

well after about 15 mins, i finally hit reboot even though it still said "formatting cache"...and it took longer than normal to boot up but once it did it seems everything is fine, i have the vanilla lockscreen w/clock and all is good in my apps etc....great rom!

****2nd update****

gmail isn't working now...i get no emails pushed to my phones and it also seems i cannot send MMS, going to hard reset see if that helps

Did hard reset help? I'm having the same problems after flashing 0.5.3 plus 4G doesn't work anymore. It keeps scanning for networks.... I usually get excellent 4G coverage at my house.

heres the steps i did....hard reset "clear storage" but then i got stuck in a loop booting at the animation...so pulled battery, did full wipe and reflashed rom, then used titanium backup and chose restore apps and data this time (the first time i downloaded the apps through the market and used titanium to restore just data)...then i used fresh updater to get the vanilla lock w/clock, it still stopped at "clearing cache", i hit reboot, and everything works perfectly

i know its not the best set of instructions, but it worked for me

Can anyone explain how to do the lock screen? I looked in the Fresh Updater but there's nothing to be found.

i was using damage control and the one thing i really liked was it had a lowmemkiller, so it changed the point that android started shutting stuff down at 150mb instead of the default which is like 50 or something. is there anything out there like this or a part of this rom i havent found yet? right now i have task killer autokill but i perfer the other way

I run Autokiller runing (free in the Market) and have it set to "Aggressive." I always have at least 150 MB available.
