Ok, I've run the 21876 for almost 6 months now without a hard reset, you gotta love that. Unfortunately my phone is on it's last leg with hardware difficulties, but I should have a replacement diamond in my hands on Thursday. Looks like I'll finally be trying this 23506, I can't believe no one has commented in this thread in forever, somebody must be running this. Is it just trouble free ? Feedback of any kind is helpful ! Is there anybody out there? Anybody have any other suggestions? I obviously love stability and mr o seems to provide that! Mr O, what are you running these days? Do you even have a diamond anymore?

I'm on a Droid Eris now. But I seem to remember there not being something right but it was minor. I think it should be fine.

Well, got a diamond on the bargain trader board, seems like just in time, because my screen on my old diamond starting flickering today, getting really flakey.

Just loaded your 23506, but it has the start menu and tsks i don't really like, so I might play around with some other things first, before I get too customized. DRB had a rom I wanted to try, so I'm going to try that first and see.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick ! You liking the droid?

It's alright. I would definitely recommend something faster but I like it. Probably a physical keyboard would be necessary.

Re: Obviously Stable ROM | Updated 7-22 | All Carriers | 21876 | 25MB PP Titanium/SPB

I'm slow to change, droids will have their day, but I'm not convinced yet. Unfortunately, it sounds like windows 7 will be the end of wm, so sad. it was just getting good. oh well. typical ms.

After playing with DRB's sense rom, which was nice, but used too much memory, actually it might have just been windows my phone somehow sucking all my memory, but nevertheless, I found your 7-22 version (duh !, why was I on 7-10?) and hopefully it will win me over to start menu on the bottom. I just hate the no task killer x in the top right, but maybe I'll get used to it again. If I'm missing something and there's a shortcut I should know about, please let me know. Hopefully 7-22 will be my solution till my next phone, only time will tell !

thanx again !

E

Glad to hear it. Yeah you'll get used to the no X in the upper right just fine. I think Android is not a bad OS but some parts of it are kinda jerky and a pain. I don't know yet. But of course I have a low end Droid phone. I wish I could get like the Droid Pro. Maybe I might even get an iPhone when they come out for Verizon.

Well I leave task manager running minimized on my home page and that lets me switch and close apps, so I've solved my X problem. My only other problem is that with the start, contacts and menu bar on the bottom, it covers the keypad and end call buttons on the phone so I can't get the keypad up without using the stylus to hit the smallest possible part of the keypad button which sticks out over the contacts button. Their must be a different dialer or something that I can do to solve this easily, but I don't know how. Any ideas ?

I think disabling the HTC phone skin under phone tools solved my problem. I'm hoping ! I know in the past I've had problems with the skins, I don't really understand skins but after running disable skin and rebooting, this dialer seems better. I think I had to do this with an omj rom as well, but that was so long ago it's a dim memory.
