Yeah, I don't find the 6.5.x sys stable enough for me. I will just leave it up to you guys to make your own using my kitchen.

Is there any way to fix this? Is the location service not working on Google's side or is it the phone's software, or something at Sprint (does this use cell tower info or GPS to determine location?) that has the problem?
The GPS works fine for Google Maps.
Does this weather app on the home screen even use Google or something else?

My location needs atleast one city already added in the data base for it to automatically download the weather so I chose to add Moreno Valley, which is were I live. It will always be there unless you remove it manually. My location should show you something else, try the new ROM I just posted and see if that solves it for you.

I believe it uses cell towers to determine location.

Re: |MysteryROM| |Dec.13.2009| |Windows Mobile 6.5| |Sense 2.5|

Hey Mystery thanks for the update! Do you think the update is mandatory ? I'm still running the Dec 1st release. I think the only reason I need an update is for Manila. Else everything works perfect. Does the minor fixes of Manila make the "white squares bug" disappears ?

Thanks a lot.

Haven't check for that bug, but I think it is still there, thats something to do with the port. It is not mandatory but I would update since I resized the icons so you can have more memory available, before it used to use the memory like crazy cause of those icons, and well the ROM is a bit faster. Its up to you if you want to update or not.

I really like this new rom... Only issue is that after the install i had less than 20mb of memory... Thats the lowest ive ever had. Is there a clean version of this rom or at least a different version with more phone memory???

Yes, it's supposed to use cell towers but CDMA has always been a problem. Just installed the latest generic (am on Telus) and weather initially correctly found me in Toronto. However Google Maps couldn't get My Location. I installed the latest Google Maps 3.3.1, still no luck and weather can't find me anymore except for general location of Ontario.

I decided to update it. As you said, it's faster. Good news. I can confirm that I still have the ''white squares'' issue but no more ''telus issue''. hehe I'll let you know if I find other things but so far, it's stable like Dec 1st release, just faster!

You're a pro! :P
