Well, I must say, OMJ, your stuff looks the best, and easiest to use of all the kitchens I've looked at...

I've had my Diamond since launch day (I'm on Telus, not sure if its any different for other carriers..), and have been using Juicy roms from the first few, until one of the later Juicy 7 roms...

About a week and a half ago, I finally decided it was time to upgrade, and seen that Juicy left the scene, with what sounds like a buggy v8 release, so I thought I'd take a shot at cooking my own rom..

The first kitchen I dl'd was yours, and I must say, it is the easiest.. I tried a few different ones, and I kept coming back to yours..

I've got a few questions about a few things with what is what with cooking roms, but I'll hold off on those for now, and ask 2 questions.. whats the difference between the 2.1 and 2.5 Senses? And secondly.. where do I put the nbh files for new roms in the kitchen, so I can modify a new rom release?

Thanks, and I hope to be quite active in this thread.. since it intrigues me... ;)

thx man!

Here is a quote from Kim, that pretty much sums it up...

Sense 2.1 is not as fully featured as 2.5....Plus, there have been alot of mods created for 2.5 to make it more user friendly, I'm not sure we'll see that w/ 2.1.....the VGA 2.1 port is very new, I havent even cooked a rom yet, so we'll see where it leads.

To decompile a .nbh, the file can be anywhere on your pc. Just open the kitchen then click on "Dump" in the bottom left corner, go to where your .nbh is, and VK will dump the rom in the same folder where the .nbh is....so I like to keep them in seperate folders.

While this is true, it should also be true that there are fewer things NOT working correctly.
The thing I like about this port is that 2.1 has the call history (which I assume becomes a notification for VM, like in earlier Manila versions) on the Today/Home page. I'd certainly give this a try in lieu of using MS3.5 before I go back to 2.5.

Re:Sense 2.1

I've cooked several roms with this already. After using 2.5 for a month or so I guess I've gotten used to what some claim is its' slowness. As for 2.1 it is snappy. Looks like it has a flip issue, but not from tab to tab, only when going from the winmo interface back to Sense.
So far, some of the 2.1 mods will work, transparent top and bottom curtians, but compact home messes it up good. Clock seems smaller,

Notice the difference in times, remember how in 2.5 the time flipped back like 1 hour and 3 minutes every time you came back to the home page ?
If you're interested, I've got a fix.

I have both, it handles the order of the icons differently for me though. Give me like 30 minutes to zip them up and upload them.

Here you go:

sorry for the delay in kitchen update....I'll be including Sense 2.1, though I havent had a chance to test it.

I rebuilt the kitchen based off calkulins v4.2......cooked a rom & now the radio is acting funny....shows no signal strength, just the dots as if it's searching for signal, but data works fine. Went back to current kitchen, all good.
