Hey OMJ, Calk put out a kitchen which he tested that was supposed to eliminate the need to flash the shipped rom. so you could flash from custom to custom with no apparent effect. I think it was the 4.1 kitchen. Not sure if it worked though but he had a bunch of testers flashing several roms 6.1 to 6.5.1 to 6.5 etc.

yeah i tested that and everything worked fine. and i have had not problems flashing anything based on Calk's kitchen without flashing back to stock first since then. I believe he has whatever he fixed included in all kitchens since that one.

23504. I think I figured it out though. There's a second Menu Enhancements selection in the HTC Sense area of the kitchen that is enabled.

This is the fix to which I was referring. I'll trust your advice about never flashing to Stock. I can always just hit the reset button if something goes wrong.

I have to admit, even with using calks new kitchen, I have still been getting better results flashing to shipped first.

you were confusing me abit, you had said menu notifications, but yeah the first one was from the original calkulin kitchen and is older...

I never flash to stock 1st, only because I flash so often to test new roms, that it would be too time consuming....alot people are firm believers in flashing to stock 1st.....if u dont flash often, it wouldnt hurt to do so.

Hi. Chronic flasher...first time cook. I have been reading over the posts from here ED/TP and xda that say anything about "guide" in the topic. So far i have succeeded in confusing myself even more. I have both PPCk-BuildOS and OMJ's kitchen downloaded and really want to pop my cherry with OMJ. and as all build virgins i'm looking for some guidance. what "guide", topic or thread should i use while utalizing OMJ's kitchen? I've noticed that the different guides can be pretty kitchen specific and may be useless while navigating OMJ's kitchen. If someone can point me to the best thread/guide to use, i will be glad to make notes and make a OMJ kitchen specific one for newbies even newer than me. I'm really loving OMJ's newest 28002, but this is the next step so i can get rid of a bunch of programs/apps that i never use. probably just being a wussy, but you know how indecisive us girls can be.....(with appologizes to all of the women out there that don't stoop to the "poor me" "poor me" approach when trying to get help) (and if that doesn't work, i'm not wearing a bra!)

Welcome, welcome, and squeak squeak to the ferrets.
Short and, well...

Unzip it.

In the OMJ folder, click on the erviuskitchen.exe, it will load.

Across the top, near the center, click the drop down "DIAMOND" tp select it.
Next in the top right the pull-down for EXT, 6.1, 6.5, 6.5.1.
6.1 = 21055, 6.5 = 21870, 6.5.1 = 23071 or 23504

Now, under that pull down is where you select the XIP and ROM.
These should match numbers.
Each time you select the packages will reload.
Now, the first few groups will need to remain untouched.

Most of the packages are already selected and need to stay that way.
At the group "Diamond-device packages", These can be selected or deselected to your liking.
The same with "Common:Packages"
The next groups withe "sense" in the title should not be touched.

The last group you can select what you like as long as two packages don't conflict, IE, two taskbars or battery icons.
It is also best not to use any of the "Manila" packages in this group like clocks.
I hate to say this, but a lot of it is trial and error and once you catch the jones for creating roms, it's hard to be happy for long, cause there is always something new around the corner.
Good luck, if you have trouble, someone will help out, it is a great community.

I see on XDA that Yozgatg has added his work to the 2.5 package.
Be trying that out I hope.

yeah I grabbed it. though I think I'll sit back & see what the verdict is....I did grab his patched sunny animation manila file though....muuuuuch smaller than the one I had. Not sure if this sunny animation is much better, still seems kinda slow....had to go to India to find some sun, lol.
