i'm on Win7 pro (64bit) too and i've never had that problem..what are you using to sync? download and install "Windows mobile device center" if you haven't already done so and give that a try.. if you already have that installed on both of the machines, then i don't know what would be causing that problem..plus, not being able to connect when in bootloader seems odd. i hard reset every time i flash and then go straight to bootloader and always flash from there..i've never run into the phone not being connected when in bootloader. hopefully someone else can help you out.

He needs to manually install WMDC 6.1

Win 7 comes with Sync Center, but needs WMDC 6.1 to work properly for syncing up our phones. Just search the microsoft download section for it.

You will be good to go, after that.

Does the Cookie Monster home tab mod allow vga Diamond users to have the one row of (3,4, or 5) quick links on the main home tab screen? Or can this only be accomplished on a wvga device?

I currently use one of OMJ's older roms with Max Manila to accomplish this, but will update if I can get quicklinks on the main home tab.

cookie's home modifier doesn't change the rows in start from what i see... there is an option for changing the rows of programs, but it jammed my phone... reseting now.

Judging from the size of the nbh, yes its most likely using LZX compression.
Its kind of required for sense 2.5 roms as they are so big, but it does come with a minimal performance penalty. (almost all carrier roms do use compression)

edit: infact to tell you the truth, I'm pretty sure VK uses a compression scheme by default (XPR) and gives you the option to compress with LZX, I don't even think you can make an uncompressed ROM in VK.

LZX compression is better, but at the same time its also slower.

ya, i notice it slow... i came from 28014, which wasn't compressed and can tell a difference... the problem i had with 28014 was the texting... it was so slow, would flip down the keyboard while texting, just annoying... this though is even slow on the hometabs, so i don't think I can do it... I know compression is needed more and more, but performance is always more important to me. I use this for work, and 28014 was slow, but reliable, but I think i might just go back to an old 6.1 rom that ran fast and steady, might not be pretty and cool though... it's a hard decision for me...

OMJ could this be uncompressed? I know you mentioned this build would be faster due to the updates, but compared to you old uncompressed this is still slower than that

I'm being told the consensus in amikams thread say a non-LZX ROM is faster w/ the new NK. If anyone would like to try, here is one.....I havent had much time to play w/ it to see if it's faster, but 1st impression is that it is quicker....
