Has anyone been able to get tell me to search for you. For example when you say coffee or pizza. Im using OMJ's 6.5.3 rom. I can get it to call a contact but that is about it. Wondering if I'm missing something here or it's just not working. Thanks for the help.

OMJ by the way, the rom is awesome. 6.5.3 is much faster that 6.5.1, especially the htc messaging client. I'm really impressed, keep up the good work. I haven't noticed any bugs so far with the regular programs I use.

Re: OMJ's | HTC Sense / Manila 2.5 | WM 6.5 / WM 6.5.x | 21870 / 23504 / 28002 | 11/2

Quick question...I've seen it asked a dozen or so times, I tried the manila 2.5 customizer but couldn't do a whole lot with it and it froze my phone so I uninstalled it..On wm 6.5 and 6.1 when you scrolled the today screen you had the settings tab and then the programs tab where you could choose a bunch of program quick links..I read in an earlier post that the tab isn't included in 6.5.3-hence the reason I downloaded the customizer from a link in an earlier post-when you flip the clock up it gives you 6 boxes to choose for programs, contacts, etc--is there a cab or anything specific that someone could post for me that allows more than just the 6 there? That's all I wanted to change-the customizer put 2 clocks and a bunch of other stuff on the initial home screen that I didn't need so I uninstalled it. I've been searching forums for the last 4 hours but couldn't find anything specific...

By the way--I love this ROM--haven't had one single hiccup, it runs beautifully! Definitely my favorite one I've ever flashed!! You rock man! I have flashed my phone so many times over the last few weeks looking for one that I loved and that worked right on my phone.

Has anyone tried 0 MB pagepool? Does it affect battery life at all?
Thanks.

I have been using iphonetoday in conjunction with HTC Sense. Before Sense I was using iphonetoday as my actual "Today" screen (over Titanium and Touchflo3d) but Sense is just so damn great looking. Now I use Iphonetoday as an app to gain a shortcut menu for all my programs. Iphonetoday accomodates up to 60 different programs on 3 different screens.

Here is the program:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508429

If you don't need that many slots for extra programs just use maxmanilla with this and you gain extra customizations (i.e. different clocks) as well as a total of 20 shortcut slots instead of the initial 6:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93966

I use Iphonetoday primarily because I run a lot of programs off "Internal Storage" directly. Iphonetoday accomodates shortcutting from "Internal Storage," the built-in 6 (or 20 when upgraded with MaxManilla) shortcut buttons HTC Sense comes with do not, from what I can tell.

How do I change the default weather, the one that is set to retrieve location using the HTC/google location thingy, It's grabbing the wrong location. I would prefer not to have to add location, because the automatic one cannot be deleted. Also how do I restore the original HTC black theme volume changer, the stock winmo volume slider is only coming up?

I read through the post and couldn't find anything. The menus for email, ect... are small again instead of the big finger friendly ones. I liked the larger ones. Great work OMJ!!!

Try 23504 or 28002; 21870 was made specifically for people that prefer that style, among other reasons.

OMJ, I'm about to flash 28002 and can't wait! So far the consensus seems to be that it's great.

No, hes talking about the HTC menu enhancement. Yes going to 6.5.1 would get you the native windows touch friendly menus as well. However, if you like the 6.5 version, the Htc menu enhancement for touch friendky menus under 6.5 seems flaky. I had problems with it on 1.4, but not 1.5. Maybe do the 'flash dance' or hard reset might bring it back.

In v1.4 6.5, Menu enhancements would work for a while for me on everything then stop working on secondary screens (anything outside of the main manila screens). A soft reset brought the touch menus back.

Looking for the same thing, help please. The "default" location it got from gps shows the wrong temperature/forecast.

4. no, the rom has to be cooked w/o it

5. the backlight screen doesnt open?

Ah, okay. I'll check into the kitchen-ing thing when I have time.

Some menus for me actually will not scroll up or down even if I hold it down really hard and move it slowly, and others will work fine. Mind you this is on the new menus by HTC, so it might just be bad coding?

I deleted the HomeBackgroundPath key, but I remade it with no value, but the animated weather background still pops up. I just want the default weather icon :(

If I go to settings in the start menu, and go to the power options through there, I cannot open the backlight or battery menus. But if I go to them through the settings box in the Manila tabs it works. Weird, but it works.

Ok so i finally figured out why i was wrong i was pointing to the wrong registry key to enable vibration. I have attached a cab that you can install to enable vibrate feedback to manila tabs and some HTC applications and the keyboard. Note these options have to be enabled in manila settings, the cab simply allows you to use the service.
After installing the cab go to manila settings --> Personalize --> Vibration --> Checkbox
Keyboard vibrate feedback --> Manila settings --> Locale and Text --> Text input -- Vibrate On

if you dont want to install the cab here is the key that you can modify throught registry editor
Code:

[HKLM\Software\OEM\Keystate]
"UseService"=DWORD:00000001

This also enables the phone to vibrate when a call is connected. Enable that option in phone settings advanced.

Neither programs work on the Sprint Touch Diamond-the iphone today is just a mess (which I kind of expected) and the max manilla thing is the exact same as what I tried before...it slows my phone down like crazy..puts 3 clocks on my today screen and I couldn't find a way to customize it...

Anyone got any other suggestions?

OMJ, I just wanted to say your ROMs are amazing! Pretty much the best rom I've used so far! Keep up the good work!

Does anyone know of a fix for the Opera 9.7 trunucation bug? I can't get anything from Opera to download to Internal Storage. I've set everything using opera:config and cache will go to Internal Storage just fine, but not anything I download, it goes to \Internal Storag\ under Device memory.

Sorry if this has been asked already

I used it and it worked great but it just seemed it hadn't been sized yet for our VGA screens, so youll get a little overlap in some places. You can customize by reading the thread at xda or there is a thread here in the diamond section about manila 2.5 and the manila max customizations.

Here is the program tab from Sense 2.1
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3999/screen03uo.png

The way it works
To add a quicklink
1.press where you want the link
2. in programlist choose a program now you need to press back to add it

problems can't use quicklink 1 and 2 at the same time (will cause all next links to have white icons)
pressin all programs opens the list but can't run programs from there and pressing back will add selected program to last added quicklink

and I hear ya about flashing alot....my phone is begging for a break, lol.

You have 2 choices, either use "my location" (which is not always accurate) or manually enter your city. You may not be able to delete the automatic one, but you can add your city then switch to it.

the HTC volume does not work in the 6.5.x roms....from what I'm being told....I've tried cooking them in and didnt work....I dont like the stock volume either.

so u want the weather icon, but not the animation? hmm, I'm not sure exactly how to stop the animation. I know if you switch to a animated wallpaper the weather animation stops, but then you'll have one of the funky backgrounds.

which rom are you using? I just retraced your steps, start/settings/system/power/backlight worked fine on 28002

Truly a great ROM, been using for about 24 hours...a few problems preventing this from being an epic ROM, but it isn't Ken's fault, just quirks with the 2.5 port, and such...if these were ironed out, EPIC

-Facebook auto update
-Facebook contact picture to local phonebook
-Opera 10 thumbnails on internet page
-Sunny animation super slow
-mms from HTC client
-HTC volume
-HTC task manager

Oh, and it appears the location weather just has a hard time indoors updating, and I think it has a hard time at my house because of my Airave, outdoors, and outside my house it seems to do just fine.

I've been lurking this thread for days now, and finally I have something to contribute: Yes, in fact you do get more shortcuts with this fix from XDA, but so far I've only been able to assign 9 of the 12. Here's what I mean:

http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...D/Screen01.png

When you attempt to assign the final 3 spots, it simply returns to the screen having made no assignment. Strange huh? Still it's better than before, so I'm happy for now.

Note that I've been running OMJ's WM 6.5 21870 v1.5 for 8 days now, so it's version 1920 of the 2.5 port.

Also note that in the XDA posting, you will need only certain of the manila files, not all of them. The post makes this clear, but you can still mess it up if you're not careful.

that's pretty weak (the no programs tab), we gotta find a way to add it as a tab because I don't really want it below the clock and people use way more than 9 or 12 programs anyways.

100% Agree, except for the "weak" part - I'm a big fan of OMJ's work in this ROM :)

One more thing: Here are the actual manila files plus the dll I added into my \Windows directory to make this happen for me.

Perhaps I did mess it up given that 9 of the 12 slots work. Anyone care to try it out and report back?

EDIT: 24-Nov-2009----> Apparently the 12 link fix for manila 1921 is posted. See here:

How come on the people tab I can't add the same contact with different numbers or text message. What I mean is, I can't add my wife with her cell# and add her again with her work # or text option. I have to add her as contact card to get all options. Also, every time I go to add a contact, the keybord pops up when the contacts window appears. This is on the 21870 version.

I tried the new 28002 version, but coulodn't get any programs to close with the X button, even with the tap&hold option

Does anyone know of a fix for the Opera 9.7 trunucation bug? I can't get anything from Opera to download to Internal Storage. I've set everything using opera:config and cache will go to Internal Storage just fine, but not anything I download, it goes to \Internal Storag\ under Device memory.

Sorry if this has been asked already

i remember reading somewhere that opera 9.7 comes on a device without an "internal storage" so even though you configure it to save files there, it won't recognize it. as far as a fix i don't believe there is one...if there is i would love to know though =D

My wife allowed me to buy an early holiday gift for myself - an HTC hero. So, this is good bye. Thanks for the roms! I'll be restoring my diamond to stock before it goes on ebay.

Is anyone else getting low memory messages using the 'WM 6.5.3 28002 v1.1 w/ Opera 10' rom? I've added a few applications but I've installed them to the internal card not the device memory. If I go into the Memory app it shows 63.67MB 'Total' and 62.65MB 'In use' leaving only 1.02MB free for Storage memory. I've tried uninstalling a few things from the device memory but it hasn't really helped. Any idea's?

Hmm, Ok, do you think you'll be back when the HTC Adonis(Leo) arrives on Sprint?

You have proof to back this up? Everywhere i have read says that is not true.

Actually, yes. I went through this exercise today. Try deleting some of the stuff you find under
\My Documents\My Pictures
\My Documents\Avatars
\My Documents\Wallpapers

Your mileage may vary, but weeding out some of this stuff freed up memory, and the warning message has been gone a few hours now, fingers crossed.

this has probably been asked before, but what are the differences between 28002 and 23504?

Thanks for the tips, but I already cleared out those folders earlier. I thought we were supposed to have more than just the 63MB Total storage space I'm seeing?

Sprint wants to keep things quiet about the HD2 so as not to cannibalize sales of the devices on shelves now. I see Sprint "selling what they have" i.e. the TP2, the Hero, Pre, etc. etc. until unit lifecycles run out and they need a new 'Halo' device, or a refresh. These days, smartphones have limited shelf life, and consumers are always looking for the newest thing.

Furthermore, why did Sprint NOT release a version on the Diamond2? Why did Verizon carry this thing("Imagio")? I think Sprint has made a smart move bypassing the Diamond2 in anticipation the HD2.

Sprint is desperate. Sprint is losing customers every financial quarter. They need to be very smart if a turnaround is in the works. They know they cannot waste time/energy on a dud device.

History Lesson: The HTC Diamond and TP devices appeared on European GSM networks first, and then made their way stateside to T-Mobile, AT&T, and finally to CDMA domestic carriers. That's pretty much the story of the HTC smartphones.

No, of course I have no proof, but competition being what it is dictates a Q1 or Q2 of 2010 release of this monster on Sprint. And who knows? Perhaps it will launch with Android 2.0 and we'll all be flashing to MightyROM, OMJ and Juicy Android builds? Did you see the item on mobile advertising today? You can bet the big carriers are paying attention to this: http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/20...ne-os-race.ars

Time will tell.

Sorry, rambling, back to topic... :)

Ok, I will agree with you partly only for this simple fact of hope. I just dont think making a bold statement such as "are you coming back when sprint gets the leo" when there is no solid proof. Quite honestly I only asked in hopes you could actually provide me with a solid existence of things to come. Once again, not a stab at you, just slap happy about the thought of that beautiful device forming to my warm sweaty palm..... Ok, getting weird, sorry! Lol. Thanks for the link. :headbang:

which rom are you using? I just retraced your steps, start/settings/system/power/backlight worked fine on 28002

Yeah, I want just the icon, but without the animation. I've tried switching the backgrounds, but when I go to select an image, the image pops up like I'm selecting it, but double tapping it doesn't do anything, and there's no next button :S

I tried removing the background by the registry tweak you told me to do, but that didn't do anything.

The power settings now work through the start menu and into settings. Weird, that it works now and didn't before.

I'm still having trouble with scrolling on pages on some of the menus though. They're non-responsive when I scroll on these pages despite being able to select the forms and buttons. This only happens on the HTC menus. Because of this, I can't add new appointments onto my calendar.

I'm on WM 6.1 21055 v1.1 btw.

Anyone know where the background file is stored for the rock and republic black titanium theme. I'm looking for the image file itself for the background/wallpaper. I've been all through the windows directory and can't find it. Anyone?

I'm using the 23504 build if that makes a difference.

I think those images are all included in the tsk file ... if so, you will need to open it.
