I think I've experienced a similar problem though, but mine seems to happen while changing themes (i'm using a shadowline theme by the way). The mess is that items on "previous screen" remains under the current one, leaving some sort of trail.
I was able to get it resolved by changing the background, then switching theme to "classic blue" theme->restart->switch back to ur desired theme (be sure to leave the background photo option checked under Today's menu the whole time).
