oh man.... how terrifying! :) so are you tempted to the dark side. maybe exchange that bad boy for a tp2? lol.

I'd be lying if I said the thought hadn't crossed my mind. But I am still holding out hope that Sprint is going to get some variant of the D2/Whitestone/Leo. The TP2 is a brick...

nope, actually came from gsm land. Had a t-mobile shadow and unlocked att (htc hermes). I hope Sprint does something soon but it appears they are much more interested in Android.

how about moving us all to Maemo? :P

if anyone's genuinely interested in Android, there's a thread on xda-developers I can point you at, but I think still no-one's got actual cell connections going on the CDMA model yet (GSM models work though, apparently).

Yeah, I know about that thread Adam. Maybe having the Hero released will speed up development. So long as you can do phone as a modem, I see no reason to not move to android minus the fact I don't get Skype natively as far as I know.

Re: 11-30 | ROM | WM 6.5 | TF3D 2.1 || GadgetROM v2.00 || 21874 | All CDMA Carriers

Actually, I did have one problem with 2.00 - same problem I had with 1.7. Tethering did not work for me. Remember, I'm on Telus.

I applied some lateral thinking and came up with a solution. Searching the forums for this kind of problem was coming up with all sorts of threads about how to make tethering work on *Sprint*, involving adding LastCellConnection and ForceCellConnection parameters named Sprint into the registry. This didn't seem relevant to me, but I thought I'd look in the registry anyway, and I saw that those parameters are in there already. So I thought, well - what if I take 'em out?

That fixes it. Just deleting the HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\InternetSharing","LastCel lConnection" and HKLM,"Comm\InternetSharing\Settings","ForceCellCon nection" keys makes USB tethering work for me. Gadget, I guess you put these keys in as a result of one of those threads, or maybe just included a cab that implements this fix into your build? Can you please put it only into the Sprint build in future? Thanks!

Just installed this this morning on my phone, and love it so far. One issue though is I can't set the phone to vibrate. I hit the button on the volume control and I get a popup that just says "TITLE_WARNING" and underneath it "MSG_WARNING". Any ideas why this might be the case? All I have installed so far is Beyondpod.

question - how can we edit the two soft keys at the bottom of the home screen? I'd like to make one of them Lock so I can easily lock the phone before putting it in my pocket. thanks.

edit: I found a pointer to the correct reg keys in http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=69185 :

Change the soft keys on the home screen
Code:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\
edit "HomeLSKPath", HomeRSKPath, and HomeLSKText to valid file locations

but I don't know what the path to the slide2lock thing in gadgetrom is. Help? Thanks :)

I'll get that set up for Sprint only. That way our Canadian friends don't have to worry about this anymore. Nice find!

There's a small program that I use to change those keys that works fairly well. Just make sure you change it to "Diamond Mode".
