I could technically use Active Sync for those too, but that doesn't solve the issue of needing to type the info in 3 times still. These are very long passwords.

You can use sashimi to back up your active sync settings and have it automatically install them after you flash or when you run it manually after you flash. If gadget's rom is not sashimi compliant, then you just go to /internal storage/sashimi/program/bin/ and click on sashimi.exe. You can search around here for how to use sashimi and it's pretty straight forward. There is also a website mostly about sashimi HERE. Makisu is the program you run to back up email accounts. It will create an .xml with all of your settings that sashimi installs when it runs.

Guys, I've had a major computer meltdown today. I'm not sure what happened, but I am going to have to do a complete re-install. Work is going to slow to a crawl...

sorry to hear that Gadget! hopefully you are able to recover everything. I wanted to confirm that Opera Mobile 10 beta2 did install to internal storage with no footprint to device memory. It also sets up cache to internal storage without modification which is nice. it runs great and does not interfere with Opera 9.5. Hope this helps.

It does help. Fortunately, I have everything backed up on an external drive the so far seems to have escaped the data corruption issue I am having. And yes it is now unplugged from the pc... I just hate having to do a complete reinstall. I just wish I had the available funds to go get Windows 7 instead of reinstalling Vista.

Hey GF, isn't there a program where you can purchase a three pack of Windows 7 Upgrade for $150? Perhaps you could get a couple of buddies to go in with you. I hate Vista ... my daughter has it, and I spent several hours getting her system back. ](*,)

Curious? I've got an HTC album cab that usually gives me the ability to upload photos to facebook right from my phone. It's always worked on the other ROMs that I've used, but it doesn't work on this one. Curious why that is, and if anyone has found a way around it yet? With exception of that option not working, this is by far the best ROM I've used yet though! Great work Gadget!

Phew!!! I just read every single post in this thread from start to finish (it took a while). (uh-oh...rant coming on) I must say, it is really frustrating that the Touch Diamond has such potential to be the best phone out there, hands down - but instead it is a CONSTANT battle of whack-a-mole bugs (not directed toward you, gadget - your ROM is as good (actually better) as any). Worse, my friends & family are losing patience with me spending so much time looking for solutions to these bugs. They don't understand the nature of developing SW - bugs and churn are the name of the game.

Still, at times I too yearn for something that just works. HTC's motto should be: "The Touch Diamond = the anti-iPhone! It just doesn't work." It would sure make my life easier if {the phone rang before the caller's 4th-6th ring; the text was easy to type without a stylus; syncing to more than 1 computer didn't fail due to WM 6.1 bugs (ooh that one sucked); etc. My dad has the same phone but has spent like half an hour learning how to use it...so he's pretty clueless. Helping him is getting nigh impossible. OH well...his loss I guess. I still think this phone is going to be awesome someday!

----
OK, enough ranting. What I really wanted to say is **1** THANKS for all your hard work Gadget!! If I've spent so many hours looking for solutions to minor bugs, I can't imagine how many hours you've spent getting this ROM out to us in such good shape. I mean that truly.

Here's the bugs remaining as far as I can tell from combing through this thread, and playing with 21874 myself. Please feel free to correct me (and recap the solution) if some of these problems are solved:
* Text messaging issues
- names not coming up in texts - need to hit "Check Recipients") [Arcsoft fix? Diamond Tweak fix?]
- can only text from the people screen
- scrolls to bottom of conversation
* Google Maps issues
* Internal Memory is not available error on boot (I saw you got this problem too. I personally saw this one a lot)
* Opera save bugs - I think it was on this ROM, but I have seen it on several others too. When I try to save a file using Opera 9.5, opera just shuts down.
* Calendar issue? (something about Canada)
- My personal problem is that on sync it gives me an error saying "The following appointments failed to synchronize from the device: blah 5/23/80 12:00am." I don't have any calendar items on that date! I have no idea how to fix that. Help anyone? I've heard that SKTools can help but I don't want to have to pay a thing, and SKTools isn't free. I'm using Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate, btw.

Finally, just one more issue that I've found (it was mentioned early on but then the discussion about it died it seems): Icons can't be drag and dropped in the Start Menu. I really liked this feature of WM 6.5. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks again! I hope this post was useful in summarizing the current state of affairs for those just tuning in. :)

GF - I noticed that the temp fix you mentioned for the name suggestion seems to change the reg keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409] to "Ime File"="\\windows\\compime.dll"
"Layout text"="COMP IME"

The original setting lists: "Ime File"="\\windows\\eT9ime.dll"
"Layout Text"="eT9 IME"

I noticed that the eT9ime.dll is not listed under the windows folder. I sure you may know this already but I thought I would throw it out there. :)

Maybe a PM is best for that, but it's more of 'how' do I use Sashimi to back it up rather than having me go through all the video tutorials and trying to figure out this program for example. I don't have the time anymore to fumble around with non-user-friendly software. You could say I shouldn't be getting ROMs then, but then you could also say that I should just have kept my Sanyo M1 instead since it does everything this phone does and does them very easily for me. I switched for a multitude of reasons though and I'm looking for a ROM suitable to replace the default one that does everything I need so I can use my phone again. The RTSC one I was using was fantastic, but it's ancient now.
