Yes. Just run the radio update. Everything else stays the same.

It's what controls the communication between your phone and the cell tower.

Flashing a radio is exactly the same as flashing a ROM, but it won't hard reset your phone. So no need to reinstall a ROM, reinstall programs, files, contacts, etc.

lol true somethings arent meant to mess with, lol but i didn do anything it only would happen when i tried to use any gps app, mainly telenav(sprint navigation) couple of times google and bing, but like i said eventually it just shut down, couldnt get it to come back on, took to sprint store they had to order me another.

so when you update the radio to another carriers radio, didnt anything else improve as far as signal or did it just stop the shut down restart problem?

For me when I switched it stopped the restart problem but it also helps battery life, signal, etc. You just have to play around with which radio works best in the area of the country you live in. Here's the post that has a listing of which are better for where.

I switched from the 1.03.03v that had the gps problem to 1.03.09v that didn't for me.

I wonder if it is just the act of switching to ANY radio which solves the GPS restart issue. I personally used the Alltell radio (only cause it's newest) and I don't have any problems anymore.
