Do I need to have phone service to flash a new ROM?

Hi everyone,

I'm in an area with zero service and will not have any service until I get back to the USA. That being said, I'm interested in flashing my Sprint Diamond with a Calkulin ROM. Will I have any issues if after the phone reboots with the new ROM it can't find any phone service? What are your thoughts?
