Re: RSTG Roms - Spb MobileShell v3.0 v3.MS3.09.1 + Kitchen 5/11/09

There is no dark side... Maybee for you fella's I may, may, take a look at wm6.5 for the diamond in the next week or so... One of the things about doing all this extra work, will be freeing up some time later. And since the transition of the "dark side" device to wm6.5 went so smooth... Maybee there might be some diamond time. No promises, but we'll see what happens.

What other things should be added/improved on?

edit: do you guys not have any bugs to report? That's the way we do it in the RSTG Mafia ...

still waiting on the laser but I digress....

cool, rstg & 6.5 sounds like a winner. regarding things should added/improved, nothing that is worth noting. The 3.7.05 is perfectly stable and so is this rom series. Personal preference would lead me to say i would like to see a different opera version but that's just me. data arrows turning on and off. that's it. you can really just update the software stuff when there is a point to do it. spb or Youtube if something improves for example, opera 9.7 comes out, etc. etc. There is no random hard resets with this rom, you can flash from one release to another with no issues, it's stable and flawless period. Not the fastest rom but who cares. I think if you can bring that to 6.5 with your design, people will be excited

Yeah, this rom is awesome. I really enjoy Spb more than TF3D. Everything feels less buggy and flows more nicely. I'm not sure what it is but good work.

I'll probably rock this until you come out with some updates. I've had less problems with your roms RSTG, than anybody elses and I've tried a lot of them. Thanks for such good work!

Solitaire freezes up while playing, but it isn't enough of a problem for me to complain about it. Other than that, no problems and I have been using this rom since you put it out.

Re: RSTG Roms - Spb MobileShell v3.0 v3.MS3.09.1 + Kitchen 5/11/09

RSTG....i agree with rileyd5, sprintnerd & moonbloodsflow....this rom rocks!!!! Super stable and I love it. MS3 kicks the tar out of TF3d.

The only update would be the data icon in the taskbar not switching off. Also, I don't know what the issue is here but there was some concern about the Opera cache not clearing out and running out of system memory. Other than that I can not think of anything.

I do have a question about apps that are cooked into the ROM. If they are cooked into the ROM is there a problem updating them when updates are available? Such as mobile shell 3.0 to 3.1.

About win6.5, if you decide to bless us with a 6.5 rom sometime then that would just be gravy on top of everything else.

Thanks.

I was unable to find the solution for the taskbar data stuff. Maybee just my choice of icons?
Certain programs can be updated, mobile shell, google, and some can't opera...
I'll play around with 6.5 shortly, I need a test bed for my tpro. I want to see how portable I can make my oem directories when a new sys comes out. Now I'm talking nonsense.... lol...

Hi Stravy, do you know how to apply the opera cache to internal storage? this will solve the running out of memory thing along with installing cleartemps. here they are since I had them available:
  • Select Opera, in address bar type: opera:config
  • go down the list and select User Prefs
  • go down list and select Cache Directory4
  • Change to \internal storage\Opera9\cache\
  • go to the very bottom of the list and select save, close and soft reset
this will make sure your cache is saved to internal storage which is the bulk of the memory hog on the main memory. Good luck

hey rileyd5,

Thanks, any instruction you have would be great. Actually, i have not really had this memory issue pop up. Well, let me rephrase...i checked my memory and it says that i have:

Storage: 81.81
Used: 65.78
Free: 16.03.

Program: 203.59
In Use: 91.11
Free: 112.47

Now, I have never had the phone crap out and tell me I am low, but I don't know what to compare it too. Is this low?

Thnx.

yes, storage memory is low. You should change the opera cache over to internal storage and install cleartemps to clear ie, opera, googlemaps, livesearch, etc. it works great! I bet you will pick up some space. instructions are above in my previous post.
