Re: May 9th 2009 [Frugal F1.1-21028 | Edge E0.9-21222] ||| alRom
End of semester rush is OVER! I'm back on track. I've been playing with 21232 for the past week or so; seems quite stable to me. I'll have to check out 21234 when it's up and see how that goes.

There weren't really exams. It was a project rush. ;P
Looks like 21234 is up. *tries* |

Al ... I'm missing your ROMs. The latest I've seen are 21231 and they're great except they all change things that I liked better with your Edge version.
I'll keep looking to see if you get back to it. In the meantime, I'm sticking with yours. |

Yeah, I've been playing with Juicy's kitchen lately. Never was totally satisfied with a ROM I built in it though. They tend to be rather heavy for some reason.
I'll try building a lightweight ROM with Rhodium Manila next. A lot of bugs have been fixed lately so it's actually usable now. |

Okay, screw Manila. I tweaked WM7 Titanium Project a bit and holy crap it's sweet.
Before I go on, here are some changes I've made to the ROM in general. First off, I'm dropping Frugal edition: as it stands right now, it's a very fast, lightweight and stable ROM that feels stock. I don't see any major improvements that can be brought upon it. Next, Edge will lose its name: there will only be alRom now. I'm trying to achieve a balance between having the latest software, time for me work stabilize the ROM, time for me for other things, and time for you between flashes. I think a bi-weekly release cycle would be a fair balance, and would offer pretty major updates at every release. That is, one release every two weeks, not two releases every week. ![]() Another thing I'll clarify is the version scheme. All releases will have a three-number version, where the first number is the major revision, the second number is the minor revision, and the last number is my own stability/polish rating from 0 to 10. Finally, I'll reiterate the main goal of this ROM. alRom aims to provide a clean and polished out-of-the-box experience that requires little extra configuration to be usable. In short, flash and go. At long last, a quick overview of my imminent release, alRom 0.10.8. Code:
> Windows Mobile 6.5 build 21806 [thanks to da_reeseboy and all those imvolved] > XIP and OEMDrivers optimized using nueSpinLockPatcher [thanks to No2chem] > Updated D3D drivers [thanks to Juicy] > Opera Mobile 9.7b1 [thanks to Opera Software ASA] + WM7 Titanium Project, including TitaniumWhether and Opera Favorites [thanks to everyone involved] * Built using Calkulin's 4.8 kitchen * UPX compression [script from Juicy's kitchen] I'll probably release either tonight or tomorrow morning. Stay tuned! Last edited by Soaa-; 06-09-2009 at 04:59 PM. |
