Re: April 12th 2009 [Frugal F1.0-21028 | Edge E0.1-21500] ||| alRom

One other question, how are people (including you Soaa) finding the difference in speed between frugal and edge, is it significant or is edge just as fast?

That's really really strange. Under which ROM did you perform the backup?

I'm a rather patient person, so speed differences aren't something I particularly notice. Edge did feel a bit slower though, possibly due to 6.5 being unfinished.

Ok, the rom took a while to load up my text messages into the inbox! thanks. I'm really enjoying the speed. Also, just want to note theres an updated google maps version out.
EDIT: Is there a way to get the Rhodium Calendar into Frugal?

I just read about the new Google Maps; thanks for the heads-up anyway. I'll throw it in the next ROMs. Hopefully it'll fix the wheel zoom issue too.

Good to know it was just a delay. I think I had a similar delay before too, but it was with contacts.

Oh, didn't see the edit, sorry. I don't think Rhodium's calendar tab is possible under the old Manila engine.

Frugal F1.1 is in the works. Pre-release changelog:
Code:
+ HD People Tab
> Google Maps 3.0.1.4
> OBEX Inbox 0.948
< YouTube 1.0.1820.2727
- nueBattery shortcuts
OEMs:
Manila Engine 1.2 + CFC
Manila Black with HD People Tab
OBEX Inbox 0.948

FYI Probably a 6.5 bug, but text messages in Rhodium that were imported by PIMbackup from 6.1 make it crash. Tested with a new text message and it opens fine, did they change the format or something?

Great ROM, really fast. Here are the bugs I've noticed just using it for a few hours.
  • Phone did a hard reset after I turned off the power and turned it back on...that was not good.
  • Google Maps did not work, it also did not work when I tried installing a new version
  • When calling a person from my contacts list it seemed to freeze for about 10 seconds before the call connected.
  • When I activated the auto-adjust for the backlight, the screen went black.
I'm on a Sprint Diamond, radio 1.00.00F.

I love the speed of Manila and the Topaz SIP works really well.

EDIT: Just did another soft-reset to see if it would Hard Reset again. It technically did not. Now the screen is white with the HTC logo, the Start Menu has 7 blank rows, and I can't start any programs.

@omnicronx: I'll look into that. I don't recall having those issues though.

@rmxdave: The hard reset problem... It's a known issue that arises occasionally and randomly, and it happens with all custom ROMs. Try flashing Shipped (not stock) ROM first, then flash mine. Sprint Shipped

Thanks, I'll do that.
