It's hashed -- edit the txt file I mentioned above, overwrite -- you're done.

w0rdie-

did you actually try doing this via flashing your phone? i edited the file directly in my OEMAPPS folder and finally got around to flashing the rom with the new, edited .txt file and it didnt work. the htcmdb file on my phone now is somehow still the same as before i edited it, even though in my kitchen it actually is modified.

I use rescoe explorer, you can't overwrite the files because they are being used by the OS. I rename the files eT9AsDb, eT9Cdb and eT9Rudb to 1, 11 and 111 and then copy the new files into the windows directory and then soft reset. Works every time You can also use SDConfig and UC to copy those files into the windows directory when you flash a new rom.

Do you really type this stuff without even looking at the original post?

Re: ----> Custom T9 Dictionary Editing & Backup Solution!

You need to run the myT9words app to edit that, the file being discussed here is for managing the words more simply than that.

Your sarcasm aside, the only file discussed is the one that is mentioned in the first post. There are some that are mentioned later in the thread, but they don't seem to work for everyone.
As w0rdie said, your only other option is to use the MyWords app found in your Programs list.
