The only way to get rid of it is soft reset and then it appears normal till I scroll again. Any ideas?
I had this happened to me before but hasn't happen in this ROM yet. I think it has to do something with the .tsk, did you clear storage after flashing this ROM. Also a simple soft reset should fix it if it does happen.

Have you tried installing the qwerty toggle from savage, here is the link to the thread:

This is a sprint ROM but has worked in other carriers as well, you can try and installed in with your carrier cab. If you do try and are successful, don't forget to report back so people can know that it works for alltel as well.

How about savage;s TD@ qwerty keyboard?
I personally don't use the qwerty keyboard but the phone pad. you can try the toggle for it and see if it works for you.

Also I will like to thank you rileyd5 for helping me out answer the questions, had some personal things to take care of this afternoon and I really appreciate you helping me.

ok Im up and running on alltel after first flashing to alltel shipped rom, then to MysteryRom4 then installing dcd alltel carrier cab. Everything seems to be working except mms(and I think I read something about that in another thread so ill check that out) and Opera works but is extremely slow compared to before. All in all very cool. Thanks Mystery!

ok, after an exhausted effort flashing back to shipped twice, I finally found a sip that will work for you my friend (and for other that want this keyboard) It's one of Calcu's htc keyboards with the compact qwerty. after flashing back to shipped, installed it and it worked. I think Merdinh is not working because it's compressed, I remember reading this but oh well. This one works for sure. Looks the same as the standard white sip from the shipped rom. screenshot is attached. Good luck!
