Re: [02-28-2009] Juicy ROM 4.13 (CE OS 5.2.20764 Build 20765 AKU 1.4.4)

Welcome back

Hey, I don't suppose you'd share your kitchen? I love the ROM, but there are a few things I'd like to take out and a few I'd like to add but still retain the registry and all the drivers and such. For example Sashimi Compliance, remove TF3D and add SPB Mobile Shell. More-so, I'm fairly savvy on file manipulation and such, and I was gonna see if I could give it a go as far as making my own ROMs, but It'd be nice to have a good solid place to start that has all the good registry/drivers already packed in.

Re: [02-28-2009] Juicy ROM 4.13 (CE OS 5.2.20764 Build 20765 AKU 1.4.4)

Some observations after running all day. I know, some already mentioned.
A fantastic release.
Easily removed QuickGPS and OneNote duplicate links. (I created the extra OneNote- not ROM issue)
No animation on email envelopes.
I've gotten used to having the HD People Tab- Kind of miss it. It's one of the few things that don't really work well with an add-in CAB. It really has to be cooked in to work correctly. Please consider it. I also noticed that you changed "All People" to "Contact" on the People Tab. I think it should say "Contacts" at the very least, as it opens up the list.
Not sure how to phrase this... there are some websites that default to the mobile versions when I use older iterations of Opera. This one always goes to the full version of the site. Is there a way to choose which version of a site the browser will go to? (Other than manually entering the whole link address- ie http://www.facebook.com is the full version; http://m.facebook.com is the mobile version.)

Is there ever going to be a Calendar Tab that does something other than just show the monthly calendar? Seems like such a waste to me. Is there any way to have the calendar's specific dates link to those dates in the calendar app of choice? Have a softkey that maybe... creates an appointment or task?

Camera functions much faster than before. Albums are more inclusive and easier to navigate.

I seem to have "lost" one of my US cities in the weather tab. Gainesville FL used to always be there- no longer. And I'm back to defaulting to Canada when adding a city. Oh well.

One thing that should be looked- the phone/dialer seems to get confused when an incoming call rings more than once. First I'll see the white S2A, then a black background with my caller ID pic and two seperate buttons for answer/ignore. Then my top/taskbar pokes through... I'll try to get a vid and add it later. ---------- It seems that S2U2 1.50d is what's causing the issue. No matter what I set it on, it still interrupts the callerID and S2A gui from the phone. I'll have to play with it some more.

Does anyone have a way to assign a different ringtone for blocked/private calls? PhotoContactsPro has the ability, but I didn't want to install it just for that.

That's all for now, I guess.
I need some sleep.

I know this might be really easy but I have no idea how to do it..
How do you remove duplicate links?

How do you remove duplicate links?
Depends on which links you are trying to remove.
For links that are in your Programs list, go to \Windows\Start Menu\Program Files\ and remove duplicates. I had a duplicate of OneNote that was in this folder and another that was in \Windows\Start Menu\Program Files\Office Mobile.
I deleted the former.

For this kind of thing, you can do it either from your computer (explore from ActiveSync or Windows Explorer) or use TotalCommander, FileExplorer, Resco Explorer or your favorite explorer from your PPC. If you get an error that says that it's a ROM file or might be needed, etc., just delete it anyway. Just make sure it's just the link and not the exe file.
