HTC Footprints, an application experience that enables people to permanently chronicle their special moments by capturing a digital postcard on their phone. In addition to identifying each postcard with its specific GPS co-ordinates, Footprints also auto-names each postcard with its general location or area.
Flipping back through their photos, HTC Touch Cruise users will be able to retrace their steps to that exact location in just a few touches. Unlike other devices with geo-tagging functionality, HTC Footprints works effectively outdoors and indoors, offering a more accurate record of location for future reference and navigation.
Like the idea of footprints, one thing i think that is missing would be the ability to share footprints with others.

The ability to send your postcard to someone else, then have them be able to go to where you were would be hot.

You find a hot club, you want your friends to check it out....send the footprint...DONE!

Maybe the next version?

Maybe, you'll have to hit up HTC about that though.

If the information was stored within the header section of the image, then it would just be a matter of sending the image to another person. If they had Footprints installed then they would get the added information, otherwise it would just be a photo to everyone else.

And it wouldn't be hard to add the information to the image file.

Re: HTC Footprints CAB for Diamond!Updated Feb 5th! Google Maps/Tomtom

How do I view the the pictures that I've taken? When I click on a catagory, such as "Favorites" I see thumbnails for many "footprint." I click on a thumbnail and it just takes me to the coordinates with my notes with no larger picture. Is this how its supposed to be?

I left the following post to this same question on XDA.

By default, the Footprints App displays the pictures within the TF3D area similarly to when you click the Camera Tab. You would beable to Tap on a picture to make it full screen, etc..

Problem is, the TF3D implementation hasn't been finished.

Re: HTC Footprints CAB for Diamond!Updated Feb 5th! Google Maps/Tomtom

Ok I have this installed on my Diamond and the App installed fine but when i click the arrow which im assuming is supposed to send you to your GPS program it just shows the windows loading sign and doesnt go anywhere. Im using the newest google maps. I take the picture it detects my position for the footprint but wont open google maps any help. I also have Sprint Navigation and Live Search installed could they be interfering???
