Don't worry, you are still getting evdo speeds. That's just what windows calls a data connection. However, if you are a sprint user, you will want to rename the connection to "sprint" if you want to do internet sharing. Go to start>settings>connections(tab)>connections> manage existing connections>edit rename from DATA to SPRINT

I would add, but I'm not sure how to do this. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything. If someone posts it, I will add it to the list.
