Re: [12-07-08] Juicy ROM 4.0 [SYS OS 5.2.20764 Build 20764.1.4.3] [UC]

Man!! you're right. This is wicked fast!
so far no glitches, opera and internet are smooth, probably twice as fast loading my ppcgeeks usercp.

fyi - I found one of my customizations in conflict with this new ROM . It's most likely the different version of Manila, but It`s been very useful to me. All I do is back up the originals and then overwrite them.
I got this from the PPCKitchen.org "PPCKitchen OEM VGA" folder.

Heheh
We kept bugging him to call it 4.0 and he wanted to call it 3.10.
I guess he just met us halfway

Re: [12-07-08] Juicy ROM 4.0 [SYS OS 5.2.20764 Build 20764.1.4.3] [UC]

Got some feedback on a couple issues.

-orb streaming in WMP is very choppy, was perfect in 3.9 (Can I get some community feedback about orb or streaming media issues, I ran some tests and I'm starting to think maybe my orb issues are related to my host computer and not to this ROM.)
-seems like the wheel works intermittently for scrolling purposes. Maybe I'm smoking crack, but I felt like I could use the wheel to scroll thru almost anything in 3.9 and in 4.0 it seems to be very picky.

Benchmarking is showing file writing to be much faster than 3.9 and other tests were close to 3.9.
I love the finger scrolling with this build! Much smoother and natural compared to previous releases.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this build and I think there are probably just a few small tweaks that need to be done to make it perfect. Unfortunitly I'm not knowledgeable enough to know exactly what those tweaks are.

Thanks Juicy! Keep up the amazing work you do.

How did you get SPB KB to work with your phone? I can install it and it displays fine, but when I type anything, it's not displayed. I assumed it was because it did not work with my phone but now I'm confused. I'm running 3.7 by the way.

After ROM install, I'm not able to hard reset anymore (vol down+center button and reset button w/ stylus). Am I doing something wrong?

power + voldown + center + reset

I haven't tried, but I've heard you can also just shut it down (ie. long power press) then hold the first three, which sounds a lot easier than pressing reset with a stylus in your teeth.
