that bug was in 4.3 too, the one where you are using compact qwerty with T9 and when you start to type the first letter erases. it helps if you want a couple seconds after the message window has opened and then start to type. from my experience, if i try to type quickly as its loading, thats when it erases the first letter

Exactly. I figured out that waiting thing too, I just hate having to do it. So does 4.4 has this same bug?

i've noticed it in 4.4 too, but if you wait even a second, it won't erase the first letter.

I see this even on 3.9. Just have to be a little patient unfortunately.

internet sharing mode = Tethering or PAM?

I want to make sure sprint doesn't charge me more and PDAnet is preventing the phone from charging when connected

im also interested in this. though im fairly sure if your not signed up for it they can't charge you...

Ok if you have unlimited internet package on your services, you will not be charged. I have been using the tethering function on the diamond for internet for over a month and have not seen any additional charges for the data usage.
