But is there any fix for making texting faster?

At what point are you guys seeing lag with texting. The only lag that I see is that sometimes when I begin typing my first character will not be displayed. Is that what you're referring too?

Using vsbenchmark the numbers are actually very similar. 3.9 had a slight advantage, but I doubt that it is anything noticeable.

Of course it all comes down to perception.

yes, that is what I mean. My first character never really shows up.
Also, when i just try and open a text with only three or four messages in it, it takes a while to open. That is what I also mean by "laggy"

I am experiencing the first letter thing too, but its still quick. The first letter thing is weird though.

Did you hard reset? Things get laggy when moving from one kernel to another without a hard reset

Yeah, i did a couple times.
But I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

Mines running very fast! Maybe it's an app thats slowing him down? I am however experiencing the first letter text issue. It doesnt happen every time though, I'll post back when I figure the method to its madness out.

texting is very fast for me, and no lag on the first letter.... tried compact and full qwerty on xt9 and abc.... not sure why you are having problems

The first letter doesn't appear when used for the first time after rebooting the phone and using T9 mode.
It seems to work fine 2nd time or in Alpha mode.

BUG ALERT!
I mentioned this during 4.1..the problem still persists in 4.2.
On the normal today screen, whenever u set a background image, it will appear distorted and uneven.
