While I do sometimes get all bars, I've noticed that I display only 1 or 2 bars much more frequently than I used to. I haven't noticed Opera running any slower (if anything it might be faster) but I think Google Maps is a bit slower than it used to be. My battery life seems quite improved and I've noticed that the back doesn't get as hot as it used to so even if it is a bit slower, I think I would probably still keep it.

I have no clue, but it sounds like better battery life by bringing the power of the radio down. In my case I would rather have more of a power drain. I can charge my phone on my work computer, but some places (office buildings with tunnels and computer rooms in basements) I used to get just one or two bars, now I bounce from no connection to 1 bar. Today I wasn't even able to text anyone. Kept hitting retry until I got it to connect for that one second. Also, I think all this trying to connect, my phone did today killed my battery after 7 or 8 hours of only a few texted messages. No talking, no data.

thanks for everyone impressions and suggestions

I jumped on board the 4.1 express, and haven't had any problems (with any programs I use), but if you want to play it safe, I'd recommend 3.9 or 3.71. I had zero issues on those.

Battery life has been great on 4.1 though and IE6 is also a plus. It doesn't hurt to try them out yourself and see what you think. You can't really go wrong. Good luck!

I MAY have found a possible bug?

In IE I cant type anything within the webpage. For example I cant type in the search box in google. I can type in the address bar, just not on the actual page. This really isnt a big deal for me because opera works fine and I like it much better anyway. Just thought I'd share. It my just be may retarded phone? Anyone?

Thanks again! 4.1 is niiiiice!

Hey 360, I've been battling with ORB on my diamond also. I tried your trick and I though you fixed it..let me back up. Up until this morning, I've only used Opera/WMP, and ORB skips like crazy, unwatchable. Now I haven't yet even ran IE since getting the phone. I opened IE, did your change and ORB was super smooth still using WMP, just for kicks I changed it back to the default view and it was still smooth, sorry.

at least for me, IE and ORB are the combo now, every time I open with Opera it is choppy choppy. Just for reference I task manage and close all before each scenario.

I'm happy to try any other tests with ORB as I use it often with my Titan and now will again with the diamond.

Hey I'm just glad to hear you have it working now! I don't know why mine is performing better in desktop view, but if thats what I have to do so be it, as long as it's working.

You're right, closing all your other tasks down is also key from a memory consumption standpoint.
