Juicy!
What's the difference between this ROM and 3.9?

(Faster, Even More Stable, Different UI?)

Just wondering.
and I know that you have the change log coming soon,
But just wanted to Know if there was a HUGE difference between the two.

Thanks in advance.

- IE6 Mobile
- newer kernal 1.4.3 vs. 1.2.7
- All the changes that were earmarked for 3.10
- note that multi select does not work

...it's very fast and scrolling is the smoothest ive ever used

meant to hit the quote button at first and i hit thanks instead. probably a freudian slip, bc you deserve a few (hundred) thanks hits.

anyways, by multi select you mean... in the file explorer? because i know with some of the roms i used to use on the titan, multi selecting files didnt work in the file explorer.

But what exactly is the "kernal"?

MS has built touchflo like gestures into the os itself

upside: better than tflo for scrolling
downside: no multi select other than the menu option in tmail

I've left TouchFlo in the rom, but let MS' touch gestures handle the scrolling. Multiselect will not work, but I don't really miss it.

Be sure to hard reset after flashing, and post your results

i've been using Juicy ROMS for a while now and i'd like to know if there is a way to backup things like what programs are favorited in the programs tab, or what websites are favorited, and subscribed RSS feeds and stuff like that. other than the standard PIM backup that saves contacts and messages etc.

i'd rather not have to redo everything every time i flash a new rom. thanks

favorite programs you can back it up by backing these keys up
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\MANILA\PROGRAMLAUN CHER

for favorite people list:
just backup the file pim.vol in the root directory

RSS hubs has an export list option menu/export then to restore just import when you first run it

for favorite weather settings and alot more go and back these up

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\HTC\MANILA

THEN pick the ones you want ,they are pretty much self explanatory
goodluck

Hi I installed the new Telus radio 1.04.05 then installed your Juicy Rom 4.0 and did a hard reset after the install. Thank you Juicy for your hard work and everything looks good, but I can't seem to get GPS working. I loaded up google maps and it said it could not connect to QuickGPS. I then set the port to Com 4 manually and Google maps informed me there was no GPS installed. Does anyone have an idea?

Hi Juicy, I've been waiting for this one for awhile. Downloaded without difficulty and loaded all my cabs and email accounts with Sashimi with no glitches. On other roms, I've had to restart Sashimi midway through installation. Everything is working fine including GPS and data (including really fast internet). The only thing I notice that's different from your other roms is the phone gets just a bit warmer with this rom. Well, I'll let you know if I come across any bugs. Thanks again for your hard work!

This ROM is great! Thanks Juicy!

Snappy, minimal lag. Medium ram usage (45ish) though. Dont care for IE6 yet.

Oh, the multi-select doesn't work... ;) jk!

The ##786# (epst) command does not work. Same issue in 3.9. ##data# does work though.

thanks for the work Juicy! I also note that the epst is not working properly, I just tried and it shows the epst on the top of the screen for a split second and then the phone reverts back to the dial pad. Otherwise phone is fast and I will see what happens with a work day tomorrow.

This rom is really great! One of the fastest Ive tried yet. Found one small bug though. If you have T9 selected in the full qwerty keyboard, then switch to the small stylus keyboard, typing doesn't work. This wouldn't normally bug me, cuz I rarely use the small keyboard, but this bug ALSO affects SPB keyboard, which I use almost exclusively. Normally if you select T9 on the full qwerty then switch to SPB keyboard, the T9 selections come up and work perfectly with SPB. Its actually really handy, but now, hitting the keys does nothing. Not a deal breaker, but a bug none the less.

Which method of flashing is preferred?
Internal Storage or from RUU?

I can confirm SPB Keyboard is not working in SMS, I thought this bug would be fixed in 3.9 asI use SPB keyboard as my default. Im hoping theres a quick .cab fix because im not looking to flash sny ROM's for awhile..

Uh oh :( I'm having two problems after flashing to Juicy 4.0

I can't get to my voicemail by just hitting 1. When I dial 1 it says the "To place this call, you must first dial the area code..."

Any help? ](*,)I'm on Sprint

I have to dial my whole number to get to voicemail.

Also, when going to START>SETTINGS>PHONE, if I change anything the color pinwheel keeps spinning forever as if it's stuck.

Just to be clear, SPB keyboard DOES work in SMS, but only if T9 is NOT selected in the full qwerty keyboard. Same for you????

Anyone else having issues taking pictures in contacts mode? It seems to corrupt the picture, it works fine in normal mode though...
