something was up w/the OEM, i've got one that works but you've gotta replace the original savage25rcracer keyboard oem folder due to the matching .dsm/.rgu's.

here's the one i'm currently using, calc's modified to be free of the green. just delete the OEM sip folder & replace w/this one :thumbright:

You could use ppckitchens as a "filename reference" and copy those files to create one, or when ppckitchen fails me (1 time), I've borrowed from calu's kitchen. But I'll look tonight and see what I have in my oem_repository dir. What SYS version and what troubles are you having?

I cooked in the red and black comm manager into my TP rom and its bad, it looks like a bunch of rainbow lines going up and down and the images are all out of place. I just need an oem for comm manager so i can use, I dont wanna use the blue and black one b.c it doesnt match the theme i got going....Im using 21040 sys by drelisdee.

Rstoyguy, I finally got tired of nagging you and other people for OEMs so I read your tutorials last night and came up with a few good things.

I can't, however, for the life of me get this one to work. The clock files are by Showaco. If I dump the files in my Windows directory after flashing, the clock works great. But if I try to install the files from an OEM, the clock is all white. I tried multiple different methods but couldn't get it right.

So, if you can help me out with an OEM for these clock files, and maybe some instructions for future reference, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks. :)

*edit* Also, thanks for the great tutorials... I wish I would have read them and started making OEMs a long time ago.

Make sure your manila version is patched to handle CFC compressed graphics. They cooked in fine in my Rhodium rom I have.

Which version of manila are you using? Rhodium, Diamond stock, HD, TPro Stock? I've got a cfc patched TPro version, and rhodium should have it already.

I'm using the basic Rhodium from Calc's kitchen.

*edit* I made this cab and if I install it over the messed up white clock after flashing it works fine. The screenshot is my final result after installing the cab.

You might make sure when you handled the dups you didn't delete the wrong file, but rhodium is rhodium I think and it should work fine as far as I know. That may be something to ask calcu???

im sure this has been asked and answered but i cannot find where. I apologise in advance. But i am looking for an oem package of a manila that has a fully functional calender that syncs with exchange. Im running a 6.5 right now and every attempt at adding a .cab manila has been unsuccessful. If anyone has any answers i would greatly appreciate it.

Mobile shell can be done, but last time I looked... Scary stuff, and it looks like it needs to be done with the whole rom. I'll take a second look, but this has been deemed "pain in the aarss" previously by me somewhere...

I believe it may have been me who requested it after many failed attempts of my own. so I figured who better to ask then Mr OEM g himself.

RSTG, have you been able to make a OEM for G-Watch that did'nt conflict with G-Alarm? They have a lot of the same files that come up as dupes.

It does too much setup stuff when you first start it. (like grabs all your program links and configures them) The way to override that mess is to build a rom, then export the setup to the OEM... But to build a generic OEM, I did that and just creates a MESS when it auto-configures-everything!

The approach I would take is to...
Leave your g-alarm OEM alone, then build g-watch with ervius package creator. Make sure you have Rename dupes on startup screen in the lower left. This will cause it to build the OEM and prefix the filenames (that won't reside in \windows) with a "000-". Then what I do is rename the files and replace that "000-" with like "gw-". Then go into the initflashfiles.txt and replace the occurances of "000-" with "gw-" with notepad. Then there are no more duplicates! But a bunch of junk in \windows...

Or you could delete them out of the OEM and just have the initflashfiles entry copy them into the directory, but then you risk a different file version/dll version that may not have the right code...

Here is Spb Mobile Shell v3.0.0.6362

OEM_Spb_MobileShell_v3.0.0.6362 ............................... Spb Mobile Shell v3.0.0 build 6362 (OEM Notes)

OEM_SpbMobileShell_v3_0_0_6411 ............................... Spb Mobile Shell v3.0.0 build 6411 (OEM Notes)

Notes:
THIS IS NOT AN OEM YOU CAN JUST DROP IN YOUR KITCHEN!!!

Here is the sniplet from the RGU on how to set this up for your rom:
Code:

;===================================================================================================
;===================================================================================================
;===================================================================================================
; Notes:
; Included is the basic setup for my roms
;
;
; To setup up your rom:
; 1. Flash your rom
; 2. install MS via .cab
; 3. Set it up how you want
; 4. Export the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House 2]
; 5. Replace the remainder of this file with your exported Key
; 6. Flash and Enjoy!
;
; Don't forget the two blank lines at the end of the file!
;
;===================================================================================================
;===================================================================================================
;===================================================================================================

Edit:
When you export the key, you will most likely have a build error with the following key:
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Programs\Icons]
"\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games"=dword:00000068

NO PROBLEM! Change *ALL* the values in this one key to have "Double Slashes" like so:
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Programs\Icons]
"\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Games"=dword:00000068

I have a what is probably dumb question, but how do I use a PACKAGE_Filename and a PACKAGE_Filename_0409 to make a working OEM (get the option.xml for buildOS)? I've tried adding both folders to OEMizer, but I get a "Unhandled exception has occured in your application.......Access to path C:\PathToFile is denied" error. Thanks.

Create your option.xml as a text file in each directory. Copy the following code into that file and then change the following highlighted in orange. Here is what I recently did for the following package:

Quote:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16" standalone="yes"?>
<Items>
<Item name="PACKAGE_Topaz_Notification_Enhancement_Custom_0409" group="Apps" checked="True">
<Tip></Tip>
<Guid type="p">63814ebf-ecf7-41b6-93ab-3854c0cd8f51</Guid>
</Item>
</Items>
Where the "item name" is your directory name, and the "GUID" is the name of the DSM file.

After wondering aimlessly for quite a few months (I still don't like my Touch Diamond as much as I liked my Vogue, but I am holding out long enough to move to a Touch Pro 2), I am back to using PPCKitchen ... and I tried for 90 minutes last night to make an OEM of User Configuration that would work with PPCKitchen. Do you use a hex'd version of the application or do you use the registry entries to point to "Internal Storage" ?

Thanks and best regards,

Building off the stock rom, but I think the only thing in there really is the following regedit:

Quote:

<!--20080605, diamond_c issse 2170, add default saving location for PIE -->
<characteristic type="HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Default storage location">
<parm name="All Files" value="\Internal Storage" datatype="string"/>
</characteristic>
In the original rom file: mxipupdate_oemoperators_103.provxml and should be in the ppckitchen's file as well...

Thanks, that is even the OEM package I'm trying to use :). Do you just put both folders (the PACKAGE_Topaz_Notification_Enhancement_Custom and PACKAGE_Topaz_Notification_Enhancement_Custom_0409 ) into the OEM folder after adding the option.xml and select both files in buildOS? Is there a way to combine them and only get 1 option in buildOS? Also, while I'm already asking fun questions...how do you translate .mui files? It's not as simple as renaming it to 0409 for WWE is it?

Depends on the kitchen your using and what's in the DSM. I'd just create one for each one. You don't want to translate the mui file, find a not so older package of the same and replace the mui language files I think... According to jmztaylor, I'm not much into that kinda stuff myself.
