Aftermarket Battery Registry Change Request for the Smart People

I have several aftermarket batteries bought from ebay. They work just fine but display 5% battery life on the phone and can only be charged in a separate charger. They will not charge in the phone. Is there anyway to disable the OEM battery settings that the phone looks for? It is my understanding that the battery has a chip that says it is OEM and then the phone will register its power level and allow you to charge it. There has to be some registry settings that we could play around with to allow those that don't want to pay the outrageous price for the OEM batteries.

Re: Aftermarket Battery Registry Change Request for the Smart People

I have 2 different aftermarket batteries that dont' register on the task bar either. Well, they do, but they say 1%. The only thing I noticed is they do register with the battery monitor program that is included with several cooked roms.

It's interesting that it will register one place, but not another..
