A recommendation for the hot Diamonds

Guys, let me know if this would be feasible(or practical). So lets say that Sprint and/or HTC decide not to recall the batch of Touch Diamonds with the heat issue, ok?

How about creating a battery cover that's a little thicker but also has heat insulation built in? I came from a Mogul so a little more thickness doesn't bother me if it equals less heat on the outside of the back of the phone.

Thoughts?

Re: A recommendation for the hot Diamonds

That would be counter productive... instulating the phone will make it worse, since you'll be holding the heat in... the phone, if anything, needs ventilation, to allow it to cool, but, in a perfect world, they would just take more time in working the radios properly...
But, then again, if we weren't so fussy, we could settle for a bigger phone, allowing more air flow through it, or slower phones, so the processors don't have to work so hard, generating so much heat...

Really? The thought process is to make our phones hotter so that they will possibly over heat more quickly?!? Sounds like a plan! While we do that thats make it out of lead and make it heavier but stop the radio waves from entering our brains.

Well a little bit thicker, and a good heat transferring metal (copper, aluminum alloy) would benefit the phone and probably reduce overall temperature. I don't imagine it would work great w/o the protruding surface area. It would make the whole back of the phone warm, rather than an individual spot being hot.

a metal battery cover would be cool! It would like nice and act like a giant heatsink.

And might also reduce your signal. I believe that's why the iPhone went from a metal backing to acrylic.

Re: A recommendation for the hot Diamonds

haha I have an idea, if your phone gets really hot, try taking the battery cover off, and throwing your phone in a glass of water. I promise you that it will cool it down.

**I take no responability if anyone actually does this**

Yeah big battery, fast processor, in a very small form factor.
