Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

I was just wondering if I could possibly flash my Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel, if anyone could make a custom ROM to do so, I have a treo 800 on sprint and need to bring the Diamond over to alltel, any help would be great.

once alltel gets a diamond released I think it shouldn't be an issue but I dont know if any carrier cab exists for jumping your diamond to alltel quite yet.

there is speculation that the Alltel diamond will be a gimped Diamond.

also a ROM has nothing to do with your carrier. you will have to get alltel to activate the MEID. you can have a sprint rom on it still. or you can install a custom rom.

The Alltel Diamond is the exact same (hardware) as the Sprint device.

Verizon is getting the crippled version (if any at all).

Can anybody provide a rational business reason why Verizon would do this? It makes no sense to me.

Yes.

Alltel has an exclusivity agreement with RIM for the Thunder that gives them sole rights to the device provided they sell enough of them to meet RIM's defined quota.

So if your VWZ and you have more faith in Blackberry devices than you do WM then does it make sense to sell real competition to your new 'flagship' phone?

But they don't want to be seen as not offering it, and to the uninformed there will be no "real" difference (though we all know better).. so that all said, it makes perfect business sense to cripple it.

First, of all I would like to say thanks to all that have contributed to this project. I have successfully flashed my Sprint Touch Diamond to Alltel. Now the next step, I tried to activate the phone on Alltel's web site and it says that the phone is apart of another network so it cannot activate it. I have searched about changing the MSL number to 000000 but I am having no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on the next steps to get this phone working on the Alltel network?

Alltel / Verizone dont Accept Unregistered MEID till now. No Luck folks

Try it in Cricket or MetroPCS

Even if the ESN doesnt show up in Alltel's system (which it wont since its a Sprint phone) they will still hook it up for you. All you need to do is unlock the phone and reprogram the MSL# from the Sprint specific number to 000000 for Alltel. You just tell Alltel you got the phone off ebay and if they ask if its an Alltel phone tell them that it says Alltel on it and when you turn it on

I work as an indirect for Alltel and Sprint, so getting the Diamond activated will not be a problem as I already have the MSL#. The thing about it is that i need the data and everything to work.
