As long as the icon is blinking your ok. Also the ##775 option 2 will update your roaming capabilities.

I have to wait till I'm on an Alltel tower to dial ##775 because I roam on Verizon and get them when I try to update lol...

##775 is EPST for manual PRL download

not the number you dial for OTA PRL update.

##775 brings you to a config screen where u can brows ur device for a prl file to install.

when you say that xx is the last digits what digits are you refering to and when i did update the prl i used ##775 to do it. when that did not work i did *228 option 2 which is ota roaming upgrade. that did not work either. the ota gave me 30033 and i manually put in through ##775 the 40038. both work as an alltel prl but i still get a solid not flashing roaming icon.

i am also using the juicy rom 2.5. i am pretty sure that should not affect my ability to update my prl?

thats weird, are you sure you're not legitimately roaming

only thing i can think of is the rom is sprint config

well i am kind of knew to this stuff so i am pretty sure but i just switched from my sprint touch on alltel which had the same prl 40038 and i am in the same location i do not travel alot. it did not roam on the sprint vogue so i asume it should not on the diamond. is there any other settings in the epst for roaming besides the prl and sid/nid settings? also when i called alltel to find out if i was being charged for roaming he said no and that it showed that i was on an alltel tower.

you know now that i think about it you are probably right about it being sprint config because that makes sense. i am using an alltel tower full time so it is telling me i am roaming because it is not an alltel rom. anyway the guy at alltel said i was not being charged for roaming so i will live with the icon for now until maybe i can find some way to either remove it or flash to an alltel rom when they get the diamond and the rom is available. i do thank you for being so kind and helping me out.

Alltel is getting the same diamond has sprint. Also alltel will activate any esn number. In the past year I have activated 3 sprint phones, 2 us cellular phones, 2 verizon phones. All without an issue, so i do not see why this would be a problem for anyone to do this, I just bought a sprint diamond, with bad esn number. and it will work fine.

I have activated 2 bad esn sprint touch on my account this month, bad esn for us cellular has well.

Alltel has no problem at all with activating anything.
