So i have been on the phone for over an hour (same person) and have drained my battery about 50% Big things I have noticed... phone is not hot at all. Warm in the back a little...BUT my phone has unfortunately dropped the call 3 times. Dunno if that is my fault or the other end's fault. I might have to take back my comment about the extra bars.. may be my imagination... dunno.

There's no OS change but it does a hard reset on your phone.

No it doesn't. Flash from the internal storage so there's no hard reset.

12 hrs later... I have seen very little signal change in my house. However comma... i listend to 10 minutes worth of mp3 and made a 5 minute call and ordinarilly after that amount of use I would ask for a battery status and get 94%. After Today I got a 100% status report back after the same usage. I am hopeful that this information is correct, however after that kind of usage and my battery staying at 100% I am skeptical. How can I verify that I am indeed getting the right information? I have read many posts where people are talking about their batter usage like they know exactly what is being used. How do I check this?

just to clarify:

flashing a radio via RUU will hard reset your device, flashing a radio via internal memory (or SD Card) will not.
flashing an OS ROM will hard reset your device no matter how you flash it.

Any update on the Telus radio? I know it is a work in progress but I would like to hear if it is still being worked on at all!

I appreciate the effort from all working on this!

ive used the vzw and sprint pro radios for about a week each and havent observed a noticeable difference. they both seem better than the stock sprint diamond radio in terms of battery life and heat

Well through some kind of set of circumstances, after flashing the nueROM-S Build 171 yesterday and the build 188 today, my signal with the sprint 1.00.04F dropped down to 1 or zero bars. It was not like this with the Juicy 3.2/3.1/3.0 or the MSR or the Calku. I usually have two to three bars at home. Well today I started missing calls, as they went right into voice mail.

I just flashed back to the 1.03.03V and now have two to three bars again. Strange. I will see if it gets the dark screen and vibration but for sure in my environment the 1.03 is best.

I think we need to get a hold of the Sprint Touch Pro shipped radio. So far no one has complained of heating up or battery life, and we have sold all of our pros. Pretty much everyone came back with the Diamond.

Um...

Update: TP heats up, then battery drains, even while on charger

Heat Heat and more Heat

TP Software Issues/Unresolved Issues/Feature Requests

Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

Any one have a discolored Back on their touch pro

If you search hot* or heat, there are plenty more over at the TP forum. My TP gets hot/warm with use. The battery life is not better than my Diamond.

Daium... Didn't know the Touch PRO was having so many heat problems jejejeje. A coworker of mine has been salivating for the Touch Pro ever since I showed him my Diamond and told him about the Touch PRO's upgrades.

He just got his today and I noticed the Radio's Version is 1.03.15f. I don't know if the heat is related to the radio or not but it seems like its more updated than either of the VZW radios, worth a shot?

I have access every day to his TP and in fact, it will become my baby since he knows jack **** about WinMo phones and I'll be taking care of his. ;)

Has anyone managed to find a Telus radio rom that we can flash back to? I am still needing one so I can take my phone back in for service. What are the chances they would notice or care about the radio version since its not related to the failure of the device?

They may not notice, but if they do, they will definitely care. Changing the radio (or anything non-carrier released) voids your warranty.

That sucks, I kinda figured that, I just am not too confident that enough people want a telus radio rom for anyone to bother fixing one up. The problem with my phone isnt too serious as of yet anyways. I can probably just deal with it and hope that someone has some spare time to release the radio in a workable condition.

Has anyone got their hands on the Alltel Radio. I was wondering if it would work on the Sprint Diamond. I'm going to an Alltel area where my sprint signal is pretty week roaming on alltel.
