get it here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...9&postcount=12

its not the most recent radio, but on all other radios ive tried... in areas (rural Ohio) where i have literally always been roaming and in mostly 1x or very rarely EV (and killing my battery life) with this Alltel radio is clearly better results. Mostly low-signal RevA, or fine EV. Hardly ever gets into roaming as well. The performance I got from the radio made me want to share it!

awesome ajm144! always cool to try another radio. so this one is packaged to flash for any cdma diamond?

works on any cdma in the world. RUU package wont hard reset your phone either.

honestly, the performance i am getting so far on this radio is just noticeably better. i mean, i am getting on RevA in the boondocks, where i normally just had any signal about half the time. yes, it could definitely just be because of the geographic area i am in, but either way its just the best radio i've had yet.

thanks so far so good. ran several speed tests. all are between 580kbs - 650kbs. Lately been using the sprint radio 1.11.00f and it fluctuates alot more. I can get higher top end speeds with the sprint radio, but also get several 300kbs results. Of course, must take into consideration the time of day (traffic on tower) and location. In my house now, I'll take these results consistently all day:headbang: now to try the basement test. sprint sucks down there. LOL.

well, it did pretty good in the basement as well. not so good on data but that's to be expected. results were from 221kbs to 500kbs but only once, mostly 200 - 300. made a call, took a while to connect but did and worked descent. Like you said, it didn't bounce to roaming or 1x for data which is good. Thanks again for sharing!

I agree, i think that some roms work better with certain radios. Has anyone tried the verizon radio yet with good results?

I think so. I have been using Mystery ROMS 3&4 with the same Telus Radio and I am getting very crappy signal with 4 whereas I was getting great signal with 3. Weird. And with 4 I am not getting Evdo anywhere!!!

Thats strange... I thought the ROM has nothing to do with the radio? I know it does on my diamond also..... I tried Juicy's latest and I must say I get terrible signal. But the rom is fast as H*ll...... Very wierd

op need an update? how many more radios are on this thread that are not listing in the op? how do I know which ones cause a hard reset. I want to try a few more especially if they dont make my phone hard reset.

agreed, it needs updated. I will tell you from experience/memory that the following will not cause a hard reset. Sprint 1.03.15, telus 1.04.05, sprint 1.11.00f, 1.07.05 uscellular thanks to JakDilliard/ajm144k, and alltel 1.03.13 thanks to ajm144k. the ones that will hard reset for sure are 1.00.00f and the verizon radio 1.03.03.

also my understanding is you can take the ones that will cause a hard reset and dump the ruu_signed.nbh into another diamond ruu and it will not hard reset but I haven't tried this yet.
