does anyone still want a french rom? i spent the past couple evenings translating ghetto/tobey's kitchen. i've got all the easy stuff done. before i try to tackle the hard stuff, i just wanna make sure people still want it (i have no need for it, i use juicy's roms

). if so, i'll keep working on it. i'll post screenshots of what i got so far if anyone is interested.

How exactly did u translate it? If you had a french rom dump( any vga french) it shouldnt be too bad as we could just copy the language oems from that sys, and dump them into the kitchen

Yeah, that's basically what I did.

- dump a 6.1 french rom
- renamed all the 0409 folders, files and mui files in your kitchen to 040C
- copied the french dump files and replaced the renamed english ones
- edit initflashfiles.dat in the new OEM_Lang_040C folder and translate all the folder locations to french
- edit/translate all initflashfiles.txt folder locations in OEM packages to french named locations
- edit/translate all RGU files where necessary
- edit/trasnlate all provxml files where necessary

there are a lot of french mui files (the menu in the programs) that i couldn't find and before i manually translate the menus, i wanted to make sure people still wanted a french rom....

also, there's some problems with it. the keypad and keyboard doesn't work. and i've missed updating some links to the new folder locations.

it will not be less complicated to dump the rom from a french device?? i can get a htc diamond telus french device but i don't know how to dump the rom

that would be easier...i haven't dumped a diamond so i can't help you there...should be like dumping other devices...ask someone who has for info how to....

if you can translate a kitchen rom in french it would be nice too
