Re: [ROM] [MAY.19.09] MightyROM 4R3BORN & MightyROM5 [NEW BETA's AVAILABLE!]

No luck for me either on 6.5. I even followed the instructions here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=20

While I can get it to start up in 6.5, within minutes of either hooking up to exchange, installing anything, or running anything like Google Maps, the phone will freeze, I'll do a soft reset but the phone will do a hard reset. I've gone through that cycle approximately 5 times today (flash back to shipped Telus, hard reset, flash to MR5, hard reset, freeze, BOOM!!), always with the same result. Too bad because for the 10 minutes that it works, it looks really nice!

So now I'm on the 4R3BORN beta and it works really well. Thanks Mike!

I noticed a lot more people have reported the ringer bug in R3BORN.3 that any others. Personally I never got it while on beta.1 or beta.2.

I haven't checked MP3s yet, but the only thing that has gone wrong at all is a soft key on my second today went missing. Actually, it was the soft key I put on the main today screen to toggle to my Second Today screen. Oh, and one other thing. My Data Connection keeps turning on by itself. Shortens my battery life considerably. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? I've had to turn it off three times in the last couple days.

Stoney, I use diamond tweak to turn my data connection off after 1 minute of no use. There is probably a registry tweak for it, but I am not sure where that is.

I have never seen the corrupted ringtone error. My custom WMAs are working perfectly for me in 3. I hadn't been invited to 1 or 2, just the original r3born that wouldn't ring anything other than WAVs on my diamond.

Thanks bunches!
I'd never had that problem before. At least that I noticed. I wonder why now since I've flashed R3born? Would just checking email or weather updates turn it on; cuz it turned on over night. I used to have to turn off data and beam after flashing. That and unchecking adv in PC to USB connections.

Hola, I had similar problems - nothing seemed quite right in any 6.5 rom that I tried. I had some issued with sync so I had flashed from storage. I think what happened was that this process somehow corrupted the internal storage of the device. So what i would try (if you want to go to 6.5) is to clear the internal storage (might want to make a backup if you have lots of stuff). I tried all the stuff in the post that you quoted as well as clearing my internal storage and I have had absolutely no problem since. It was really strange because the shipped rom worked well (i didnt try any other 6.1 roms) but 6.5 was useless. So my hypothesis is that 6.5 is secretly (or overtly) using some of the internal storage for extra memory. If its not quite right.. the device pukes and dies.

Try it out let me know - im actually curious because the number of strange defects on 6.5 seems to be growing.

Cheers,

Mike, any reason for having Opera9.exe load on startup? It kills battery life substantially (as much as half). If you want to disable it I think the registry is HKCU/Software/HTC/Bootlauncher/Apps/Opera just delete the whole Opera thing.

If it were running, wouldn't I see it as a running program in the program list?
Does WIFI drain the battery? I connected to my wireless for the first time today--holy chit fogettabout G3 hehehe now only if my phone worked while on wireless (I don't get much of a signal at home)

I'm not sure why you would have that problem with the new build. Anytime you go the the internet it should turn the data on so it could download and info it needs. Maybe Mike had a regedit in previous builds that he doesnt have in this one. Seems kinda wierd. I have actually always used this tweek and it works well for me. Glad I could help.

I had never used that tweak before (didn't have to). I just knew that my battery was draining faster than before and when I checked the data connection, it was on and had to be turned off manually. That's what I thought, but doesn't email and weather panel use the phone connection to update? Or is that one and the same?

I'm not exactly sure. I assumed they used the data connection. Maybe somebody else here could clarify that for us. I'm not sure if you have done this yet or not, but I would also recommend removing the opera key from bootlauncher in the registry. That seems to improve battery life as well.
