Re: How To: Kitchens

I'm having trouble. I've made my "kitchen" and when I click Build my Rom, I get error "OSBuilder.exe has stopped working. Am I missing a step somewhere? Is there anyway to just dump my kitchen in BuildOS and open it up?
I'm getting so confused the more I try to think this one out.

Good call. The only item under System that I changed from stock selections is VOIP. I bet it's either that or Obex Inbox (since that has something to do with BT, right?). Going to try keeping both of those and see how it affects the end result.

EDIT: Yup. That was it. I'm way too lazy after 10 flashes over the last hour to figure out if it's one over the other, but keeping VOIP and the Obex Inbox extension selected solved the BT hardware issue. Now I'm a happy camper. ntt, thanks for getting me on the right track!

EDIT2: And to answer a question someone asked previously, the dotfred task manager issue has disappeared for me as well by keeping VOIP and Obex.

Good to know it worked. I didn't use VOIP but I did use the OBEX Inbox. Its good to have the OBEX Inbox so that you're friends with mortal celphones and blackberries can send you mp3's, pics and stuff. You just leave the service off when you don't need it.

Talking of VOIP, I've tried flashing with and without it, what does this install exactly? Is it a just a driver that requires some orther software to work like Skype?

Just unzip the kitchen first and put the SYS and OEM folders from the other downloads into the kitchen folder. Make sure you use the appropriate SYS Module for the kitchen you're using. If you're using v5 kitchen you have to use 20931 v5a SYS. You can select any of the other OEMs, the latest 2.03 OEM is working just fine. Remember to keep OBEX Inbox selected if you want BT to work.

Just made a ROM with everything UNselected, BT worked fine...
Made a ROM with everything stock and OBEX Inbox unselected, BT worked fine...
Made a ROM with everything stock and VoIP unselected, no BT:(

I don't know why... I'll look into it though.

Ah so VOIP is the culprit. I might have flashed the rom last night with VOIP, as I said earlier I was drinking and flashing... jejejeje

What does VOIP add Tobey? Got any idea? I haven't found anything in connections or anywhere regarding VOIP.

Re: How To: Kitchens

After the good reviews of the day I dropped my beloved 20755 to try this, actually my last 20755 built was using INSANE amounts power.

So far so good and my idle is back down to 57mA and 13mA during "sleep".
Speed doesn't seem much better but this could be a great replacement due to power alone.

And it has the non-Vista start icon, YES! (:

Worked fine before I got my bluetooth working. Haven't checked since then.
