Unfortunately this doesn't fix the problem. I've also had the same problem but just ignore the battery icon and use VistaHide. I tried all the fixes you guys have posted.

It didn't fix it for me either...I posted this problem earlier today and no one responded.

i noticed a bug today when i was walking, i was using googlemaps and the maps stopped loading after i had used "Use GPS" so i thought maybe i need to reset, so i tried a soft reset came back and then it still didn't work i tried opera and then i noticed there was no data coming in, so i tried a hard reset and after it was done data still wasn't coming in, i went in to the settings of the phone, where you turn on wifi, i noticed data connection was ON, so i went in to AIRPLANE mode to maybe restart it and that worked so anyone having problems on the SPRINT 2.1 rom don't do any resets just try this first.

no way some day..... ill be forced to move and when i am i have a copy i got for free from the boss for work i need to eventually im a PC Tech so i have to be up to par with this stuff. i run vista business on one of my 4 work computers just cuz i need it for reference it sucks tho lol

you guys need to install battery icon reg fix.cab first then serts.cab and then do a soft reset.

if its not working your not doing it right. i made this fix specifically for sprint users i damaged my device just like yous to test this my self. it IS working.
