Re: [UPDATED 9/27/08] v1.4 WDM's 2D Diamond ROM
OK here goes with what I found thus far,
1) Audio Mgr - consistantly coming up with "not enough memory" error - have tried killing background apps, reloaded ROM and started right off the bat and still same error (after this Im reflashing from the PC fully to V1.4 and trying again) 2) Volume Issue - I think I finally figured out the adjusting volume issue people are talking about, had the wife call me, activated speaker phone and had her just talk in the background while I checked a few things, adjusting the System sound level and Ringer volume level can occur but any changes do NOT affect the volume level of the speaker phone while in call directly, although quite loud to start with which a speaker phone should be, can see how the receiver may want it higher or lower depending on location and unable to change - now the on-screen and the volume slider on side of the phone do nothing in regards to the level of the volume in call only, outside of a call all is fine Everything else seems fine and as stated going to fully flash V1.4 and see if things change with the 2 issues mentioned as I did notice a weird occurrence right after the first start - the autorun/customizations took place then just sat at the desktop - didnt reboot automatically like it should have that may be the issue as something may have corrupted or locked in the installation Detroit Doug Last edited by detroit_doug; 09-27-2008 at 03:50 PM. |

Re: [09/27/08] Juicy ROM 2.2 [CE OS 5.2.20755 | 16MB PP]
Thanks Juicy and everyone for the great ROMS. Just flashed 2.2 and it solved my no GPS problem I was having with 2.1 (but this probably was due to something I did to the phone - not 2.1).
I am experiencing the jumping signal bars that was a problem a few releases ago. Also, yesterday (with 2.1) I was having poor reception issues (i.e. couldn't get a signal in a place that I know I should be able to). Just for a test, I called my cell from my home number and all of a sudden the signal bars went solid at 3 bars. As soon as I hung up, they started bouncing again. Is there any changes in 2.2 that would cause this? Greg |

The whole reason to have a page pool is to "cache" app bits from ROM into a small dedicated area of RAM, in order to boost the performance of apps located in ROM. Without a PP, the RAM can be used to cache ALL ROM bits. On our Diamonds, since we have a very large amount of RAM, I just dont see the need to increase the pp size. We have enough RAM to cache our entire ROM X2, and still have plenty left over. So why waste the cycles needed to create, maintain, and groom a pagepool? |
