[6/21/10] cesium's clearROM v2.0 Final [Sense 2.5 | 6.5.x | 23563]

This is a new ROM that I've been making over the past few weeks. Thanks go out to everyone who made Sense 2.5 possible (Amarullz, Kisja, Kimi, etc), and others who have given me help and advice throughout my time here at PPCG (OMJ, mwalt, Calk, indagroove, etc).

This uses the newest Sense 2.5 2012 with the latest 6.5.x builds with the native kernel.

I love seeing my background, so I have made many things transparent or semi-transparent in this ROM. Ranging from the clock, to the program grid, people grid, etc. Additionally, I have made/applied some random mods such as a skinned Windows SMS interface to look like Manila.

NOTE: To enable My Location for Weather, you must first go to the Weather tab, select Menu>Enable My Location. You will notice that there are no buttons to select OK. Hit the Home button to go back to the normal Manila interface. At this point, go to the Settings tab, and hit Location. Check the box for HTC Location Service and hit Done.

You need to install Opera yourself! Google Maps is included in the full version and aGPS works!

Download Opera 10 Mobile Final here

If you do not want Manila Locker, disable it with this CAB (thanks amikam)

If you want the ## codes to work (e.g. ##MSL#), install this CAB (thanks mwalt2)

This is a generic ROM. Get carrier cabs here (not needed unless you want carrier-specific apps)

Bugs:

Fixed in 1.1: Windows 6.5 lock "slider" is not enabled by default. To fix, go to Start>Settings>System, and click on Smart Lock. Select "WM6.5 New Lock" and hit OK.

Co0kie's Home Tab Editor v1.8.0 can only be launched from the Start Menu, and not through the home tab

Yeah, it's very clean. Looks like he used OMJ's kitchen. The Start menu is a bit of a mess, but that's less important now that we've got Cookiemonster's mod with 36 quick launch spots. I have to say, I really like how visible the background is in this ROM.

Yeah, I used OMJs kitchen. I did almost all of the manila editing to make things transparent or semi-transparent. I got the calendar and clock from XDA, along with the icon set + transparent slider.

The icon/slider is not perfect when you go into deeper menus like All People, so I will try to fix that.

There are a lot of other random tweaks which I've made over the last few weeks in the kitchen, can't remember most of them though.

just use the old method for 1921... works for me.
just in case u not sure im talking about... u can just use a cab on initial flash.
unless u feel like messing with manila files images, then it's different.

Thanks for sharing. I have some questions that I was hoping can be clarified before I try the ROM.

I see that you're on Sprint. I'm wondering if it has Sprint carrier configuration (but not the bloatware apps) in it, such as working EPST and ##MSL#, update profile, etc? For some reason, the Sprint carrier cab doesn't always fix EPST-related issues on custom ROMs. For example, ##3282# would just show EPST.exe quickly, and MDN/MSID changes through ##MSL# would not be retained after a reset.

Also, does 3-way conference work? (e.g., Send key works reliably as a Flash switch).

I left it as a generic carrier ROM. If you install the sprint carrier cab you should have all that functionality.

No idea if 3-way conferencing works, never tried it before. If it works on other ROMs with the Leo dialer, then it should work on mine.

So I found out this morning that the alarm doesn't sound or vibrate. Also, when I try to get into the alarm settings from the home tab, I get the error "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename." Any ideas?

Ok, so I was able to fix the error by going into CHTEditor and changing the alarm shortcut, but the alarm still won't sound.

Whoops, I had the shortcut set to g-alarm since that is what I always used. I will make sure to revert it to default for the next build.

I'm not sure about the alarm issue, I will test it later today and experiment.

looks good digging your rom, wondering is you can do a more stripped down version, i would like more memory available if possilbe maybe use lzx compression not sure. but the rom is deffinetly nice keep up great work

Love the new rom, you seem to have kept in and left out pretty much what I would have if I were that smart! One problem with the lite version tho' - the g-sensor no longer works. It worked fine in the original ClearROM but may have been turned off in the lite? Hard reset, reinstall, still no G. M Go Blue!

Hm I changed the Sensor SDK to one that ppl reported worked with everything on XDA. I didn't test it out since I don't really use the accelerometer for anything.

Just took a look, and it does not work. I will revert to the old version and reupload. Sorry!

I noticed in version you 1.1 you wrote
"Removed - SmartLock 2.0F (would result in non-booting ROM)"

If I install version 1.3, can I install SmartLock? Was that just an issue when it was cooked in, or will it happen if I install it from a cab too?

It will work perfectly if you install it via CAB, it just gave me issues when cooking it in.

Still on version 1.2 btw :p Just threw up that changelog to show what I'm working on [hence WIP (work in progress)] and just to organize my thoughts.

This is the best 6.5 rom I have tried by far.

Is there a way to change the Sprint displayed in the top left corner of the home screen or to change it?

Thanks :) You can change it or remove it in Cookies Home Tab Editor. Start>System Tools>CHTEditor

Scroll down and you'll see Customer Operator Text. You can change it to whatever you want or leave it blank. All up to you!

Hey, I want to know how to fix this issue: I installed the rom via rom update utility, the "htc quietly brilliant" logo hasn't gone away its been over 10 minutes!

Simple answer is to flash your carriers official rom.

Awesome thanks, it worked, but when I saved the settings it made the bottom half of the screen all white and I had to shut down and restart to fix it,I had seen this before when I was playing with the settings for the shortcut grid. When I held the power button to shut it off it froze on shut down screen and I had to pull the battery, still a great rom though

this rom is not loading properly.... once the htc boot screen shows.... i get an: {regqueurylockscreenloc kflag failed with error0 ; this operation completed successfully}... .... i removed battery restarted phone .. still the same thing... its not being recognized my sync so i can start over... i load many custom roms before and never had this is... this assist...thanks

Same thing happened to me too, twice, with or without flash to Sprint stock, and resetting didn't help. I could flash to other ROMs afterward without any issue.

I will rebuild the ROM tomorrow, reflash to ensure that it works, and then reupload. Sorry about the issues!

Geeksquadryder, you can boot into the bootloader mode to flash another ROM in the meantime. When the phone is off, hold the back arrow key, the volume down key, and the power key all at the same time. It should load into a 3-colored screen. At that point, you can connect back via USB and flash.

Actually after playing with it a bit more it only freezes after I make changes with Cookies Home Tab Editor, no biggie now that I have it the way I want I shouldnt need to play with it any more

How do I load another prl onto this. Codes are not enabled and dmrouter.exe does not work. EPST too wouldnt change the PRL

I've tried different Sprint provisioning CABS and though EPST edit would come up and accept the change, it would crash after the reset prompt, and wouldn't keep the edit. The only way that works is to flash back to stock first. Not sure about OTA PRL, but I use earlier Sprint PRL that scans less.

I like xdashutdown. It doesn't run by holding the power button unless you map it with a program like aebuttonplus though. I just use the start menu shortcut and place it near the top so it's easily accessible.
