I kept my current wm 6.5.x titanium only ROM as is. I then loaded all the Android files into the root of internal storage and then ran haret. Linux loaded files and opened with an emergency dialer which I can't get past. I understand I probably won't get the dual boot without also using the supplied ROM but I thought Android would run "independently" ?? Where am I screwing up ?

The reason you can't get past the emergency dialer is that you failed to align the screen. I had that and it was confusing at first, but then I read up on it. From WinMo go into your Internal Storage root and delete the "ts-calibration" file. The run haret again. This time look for a rather small white square at the top. Use your stylus to click on it. Another square will appear further down, then another (just like when you have to calibrate the screen after installing a WinMo ROM.) After it is calibrated you'll be able to get in.
