been using android for a day... few notes (found at xda as well)

- If you turn on wifi, turning it off crashes it.
- to get mic working, call your voicemail, and then boot android

Ok, I dialed voicemail while in windows mobile, I then ran haret.exe and booted into android, the phone worked perfectly fine for all calls incoming and outgoing.

I seem to be having the no sound issue. Since we don't have a devoted diamond/android thread, this is the best place to post. I read that internal storage should be formatted prior to installing android to avoid this problem..anyone confirm?

Yeah.. sorry fearless if we are taking over your ROM lol we can make a new post to discuss purely Android if you would like.

For those of you who called voicemail, did you leave it connected as you ran haret.exe?

I am also getting a keyboard error and also lost service, going to try deleting the "free floating" files in my root internal storage and play with it some more!

As for the calibration, the folks over at XDA say the calibration works, however it did not work for me! (version 2/2)

Very cool. I just used your Android files and got it running. Definitely not ready for prime time, but a lot of potential.
My phone eventually locked up and was getting so hot I could barely touch it. But I did manage to get one of my gmail accounts logged in and loaded. And I received an SMS. I wasn't able to actually receive any email and the lockup occured just as I was logging into my FB account using the browser.
Use of the hard keys was also interesting. The sensitivity was much greater when just touching the key as opposed to actually pressing it. And only the lower half of the scroll-pad worked.
I'll probably play more with it this weekend.

I am uploading the new files for the 2/2 version which has the calibration fix! When the errors pop up just push wait and your good to go. And yes, leave your voicemail connected as you boot into android

I haven't heard of this issue but i did not format my internal storage in any way. Then again you may of had something in there that i don't. So you could try formatting it.

Thank you. Try to delete the data.img in your internal storage and run haret again. You may need to replace the Android files to make sure you have everything but make sure you delete that data.img file evrytime something doesnt go right for you that should be working...Report back!

Q: Can I sync my WM contacts, appointments etc. to Android?

Sync them to google account (hardly any point in using Android if you don't have one), then when you set up Android, you'll be asked for your google account, which will automagically sync everything.

Ok, Fr3sh, I'm at a loss. I have dl'd the latest android package from your post on the first page, and I placed all the files directly on my internal storage. I deleted the previous data.img file as you mentioned, but I still have no touch support. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. When I went to xda and downloaded the xandroid pkg and the diamond 500 pkg seperately and loaded them that way yesterday it worked, but I didnt have text or data or anything and people say thats supposed to work. What in the world am I doing wrong?!

Works perfectly for me.Even used google to sync my WM contacts .The only issue I had was when it comes to dual boot screen and I hit Android it takes longer time to boot even though I choose it as a fastboot and all programming chunks are shown up when booting for Android. Is there a way we can boot it faster.I know saying is easy but hard to implement. But any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

While android is booting did you calibrate the screen? There are some white boxes you have to touch while it is loading, I missed it the first time myself. The newer version does seem to run better, my phone definatly doesnt get as hot after a while. I hate to say this though, I am looking at android phones on sprints web site today, I have been putting off upgrading, I feel like a traitor.

Does anybody sync their phone with Exchange? Since I flashed to Fearless I have had trouble getting my ActiveSync to work. It says "Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists, try deleting and then re-creating the device's sync relationships. Support code: 0x80004005." Tried re-flashing a couple times, but to no avail.

btw, I love the Fearless ROM and Android has been working pretty swell for me as well. Can't wait for all the improvements.

I have not been able to figure out the ring tone thing also. It says silent also. Never could get a cool clock either. Got a message saying the screen was full.

Exchange worked fine on mine. We use Exchange 2003 at our office.

I "just" got it setup (this rom) the only thing I don't like so far is the startup sound. I can probably figure out how to disable that, I think.

I couldn't get my Opera 9.5 to open. I could install it, but it would just show the splash screen and never load. That and the Data connection always seemed to be lit (whether it was actually active or not, I don't know).

I'll have to go back to a different ROM for now as well.

I am not sure simply because i do not use exchange personally but i will happily do some research!

Also Uploading 2/4/2010 Android files. Also thinking about changing SYS for 6.5.x. Let me know your thoughts.

what SYS are you updating to? I hear the new 23xxx that came out on 1/29 is pretty fast and stable. you might want to check that out.

is is possible for you to upload your graphics package? I wanted to flash but according to the post above, i'd only have 20 some MBs to work with. i was hoping it would be at least about 45 MBs free after the flash.

is it possible to create a clean, stripped down version?

Thanks!

id say changing the sys due to the activesync issue.. 6.5x has an updated look to it however you cant sync even with the patch.. id say keep the working sys till that issue is resolved... just my thoughts
