is is possible for you to upload your graphics package? I wanted to flash but according to the post above, i'd only have 20 some MBs to work with. i was hoping it would be at least about 45 MBs free after the flash.

is it possible to create a clean, stripped down version?

Thanks!

You should have 34 MB's to play with after flash. 33.74 to be exact. but ive been hearing good things about that SYS so ima try it out. And for my graphics i replace the manila files with my graphics manila files and compress them and my graphics actually are smaller than the original files so i gain space by doing that. But il be more than happy to post a lite rom

If your referring to my default manila wallpaper, you can find it in My documents/Wallpaper if it did not load for you by default.

Okay, I copied the extracted files to the internal storage and clicked on haret.exe.

But, when it starts loading, it stops after the following message:

"Failed to mount the SD card. Cannot continue"

Any help is appreciated..thanks.

*** Edit ***

Nevermind. Got it. Found the problem and came across the solution at xda.

you use the disk management console in control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management to erase the logical drive. Once done there should be no extended partition in a logical drive on your disk because you deleted it. You may have to remove the extended partition BEFORE you're able to delete the logical drive... Anyways, once you have 0 partitions on your sdcard, no extended partition in a logical drive, no logical drive etc you CREATE 1 PRIMARY FAT32 PARTITION that USES YOUR WHOLE CARD.

idk if this will work but i noticed android to be a little more snappier with this tweak.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48801

also disabling wifi thru "power control" widget does not crash android and saves battery!

anybody else having issues with some apps not properly fitting onto the screen?

hmm...couple of posts in that thread say the tweak is only for devices with storage cards.. i'd be willing to give it a try but are you sure its not a placebo effect??

Yeah i read that too but i def notice a difference after a few hours of use. Specially launching the program launcher tab. before the tweak it was sluggish and scrolling wasn't smooth. afterward it was noticeably better. see for yourself..post feedback.

is there a way to access the storage via pc under android? tried htcsync still no luck.

Found a few things with this newest 2/4 Android.
  • It keeps reading the battery level at 5%.
  • I can't connect to the Sprint network (was able to previously).
  • WiFi says it's connected, but it doesn't work- I can't get my Google account working.
  • Doesn't get as hot.
  • Calibration (of screen) works much better.
  • Without some sort of network connection, it's worthless. :angry7:

Not sure if you were using a previous version, but if you were, you need to go in and delete all the previous files from that version and then add the 2/4 version back on the storage card. for some reason it needs a "clean install" each time. The battery reader is a known issue, but the wifi and data should work.

Agreed.. Everything with the 2/04 is working for me, excluding the known GPS and camera.

When loading, delete all previous files, and put them back into the root of your internal storage. Once that is done run the haret.exe. Once loaded, go to settings, then connections, and make sure you change the APN to Android and add the internet setting. Reboot and call your voicemail and run the haret.exe once again.

I unplugged my phone around 10 AM this morning and it ran until 2:30PM without a charge, when I decided to check back to WM and found out I was down to about 20%. Not too bad when I cant stop downloading apps, texting, a few phone calls, and tons of internet browsing! I am really impressed by Android and how well the apps work.

Check out AP mobile, Weatherbug, and talk to me (if you have friends who speak foreign languages)

Also love the speech to text on handcent SMS.. its awesome!

Only complaints are a bit of lagginess when typing, scrolling is terrible for me (might be due to my cover) but I have to press extremely hard and move my finger slowly to get it to scroll. Also not knowing battery life is a huge letdown.

Also am not sure whats going on with the LED but my diamond has been freaking out. Different LED signals all day, first one looked like text message, next looked like charging, and now its pulsing?

Overall, loving the apps and using android as my main OS. Will continue throughout the weekend and see how it goes!

While in android hold down on the wallpaper and click widgets and scroll to Power control. Wifi is the far left button. you can enable and disable wifi without crashing android with that widget.

Are you getting audible ringtones & text alerts? I have been trying to figure out a fix for that. Also is that 20% battery by 2:30 with wifi off? (On by default in Android)

I can confirm the led craziness too. Not sure whats causing it.

Has anyone noticed that the end button wont wake the phone up if it's been asleep for a while? I've found that I have to still hit the top power button to wake it from a "deep sleep".

I can't comment on audible ringtone, I am at College all day and keep it on vibrate.. which it does vibrate for both calls and text messages.

I also never touched the wifi setting, however I believe it was off. If it was on, my internet browser would pop up with the University's credentials, but it didn't do this.

Edit: I also noticed the end button not working after phone has been off for a while... need to push the normal power button. Not sure what causes it

Cool. Thanks. I did indeed have many older files there.
I replaced all of them, but there were some config files that got created that remained from the old version.
I just deleted all Android related files and pasted the new ones back. I'll try again this weekend.

Out of curiosity are you using the android keyboard or the touch input?

Both just seem so slow to me coming from fingerkeyboard... its a hard transition since I text at least 100 messages a day. Hopefully XDA keeps it up and improves keyboard speed!

Yep i can now confirm that the 2/04 build has working ringtones and notification alerts.

BTW does anyone know why the phone runs so warm when running android? I have wifi off and even if I leave it sitting for a while it stays warm. I wouldnt care but it drains the battery really fast and since there's no battery meter it's really a pain.

Now, if we can only get the battery issue fixed, andriod for the diamond is just about ready for every day use..Btw search the market for tower raiders, one of the most addicting games I have encountered.

All the issues I previously had with android, I.E no sound ect, was fixed by completely removing all android files out of internal storage, and starting fresh with the ops zip file.

Hello, I'm using Sense 28014 Lite. Loving this rom and Android. Having a problem with photo tab. Getting the error message "the file 'albumsearcher' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found...". From the searches I've done it seems that a file may have been missed when cooking the rom. I'm going to try the full version to see if it fixes but would prefer to use a lite version.
